Best powerbanks 2015

So, mobile devices are getting more and more battery hungry, and battery technology hasn't improved since the 90s. So, Powerbanks.

I'm wondering what people's experiences have been. Looking to get one to charge a smartphone 1/2 times.

Romoss seems to be a solid brand, judging by the reviews I've found so far.

Anyone have any experiences to share?

I'll add my review once I've decided which one to buy.
 
I use romoss only ,and so does my friends/family.
It works great ,they have original samsung cells inside.

Excellent. That's what the reviews I've been reading have been saying.

So you get the same number of charge cycles as out of a cellphone battery? Don't want the thing dying after 6 months...

No Its slightly less ,they not 100% efficiency You looking at around 95% efficiency. I personally don't use mine as much ,SO uses it almost everyday on her iphone 4s.
 
I use the Romoss, Daussen and Adata. The former has Samsung Cells and the latter Chinese variant yet I've found nothing different between them besides the Adata having a nice light to use during load shedding and costing 2/3 of the Romoss.

Been using the Romoss Sailing 2 for about 3 months now. Cant fault it. The Samsung battery is what eventually made me buy it.
 
I use the sailing 3 to charge sometimes both mine and the Fiancees phone when we are on the go
Her parents use the sailing 3 for their phones and tab
Bro uses sailing 2 for iphone.

All works beeeautifully and with no issues at all.

For the price, you can't go wrong with Romoss.
 
Sightly OT, but are these things really necessary?

Maybe its just me.
At the office, phone plugged into USB 90% of the time, only gets unplugged when I go to a meeting or have to got out somewhere.
At home, I never or very seldomly charge at home since my phone is on 100% capacity when I leave the office. When I get to my desk the next morning it has around 20% left

Weekends, I usually know whether there's going to be loadshedding or not so I charge beforehand, in the event that I'm caught off-guard there's always the ability to charge from the laptop.

In the car, well there's a car charger for that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm referring to my personal situation, I've never been that desperate to through money in the water. For the record I have enough credit at Takealot to buy two of these, but I really don't see the point.

Maybe someone can enlighten me :o

I hear ya.

Even at the office, I prefer to have the phone unplugged when I can. The charger gets in the way when typing. And then you can wander around with it.

There are also days when I'm out and about a lot (same goes for the SO, who will also want one).

Out and about not in a car, and not where you can just plug into a laptop (Court, client's premises etc)
 
For those who are interested, I opted for this Polaroid 6000mah powerbank from the Verimark brick n mortar store for R249.

So far so good. It has two charging ports, one is 1A and one is 2A.good speeds so far. It also has a little LED torch.

It's not very big, and weighs a bit more than a Samsung Note 4 (roughly).

Well worth it for the money if you ask me.

One thing I recently learnt was the capacity lost with going from the battery(3v) to the USB port(5v)
