Hi all

Just wondering what class you all prefer?

I tried out with a Warrior (alliance), but I don't like it at all. The fact that you have to be close to an enemy just doesn't do it for me. I've been thinkin about playing a Druid.

I have played every class for atleast about 30 odd lvl's

I have never had more fun than with the mage i got currently. i just haven't had time this last few days for any wow. Christmas shopping and all.

But i would say. Roll a mage or a rogue. even hunter is fun, to many of them tbh.

Hunter / Lock its easy to play hard to master. But it is a good class to learn with.

I would also recomend mage as first char. You dont need to spend lots on gear as mage up to level 60 can be done with the just the basic stuff. Classes like warriors and rogues you need to upgrade gear constantly to be able to kill stuff.

Warlocks are quite fun too or so I am told, they are more difficoult to master but potentialy a lot of fun aswell.
Hunter if you want to go the easy way, loads of fun but limmited group choices.

As warrior(tank), mage or priest(healer) you will be bugged to join people for instances till way after level 70! So one of the above 3 if you want to enjoy the social aspects of this game.

I second mage. you'll have a blast i promise you

I would say lock as it is the easiest class to play. For the most fun I would say Shaman!

My first EU character was a lock. Great starting character with lots of variety. Plus you will never go lonely as you always have a pet to talk to whilst soloing.

Dude (alliance) , thats your problem. roll a orc hunter or undead rogue :D

In the end you just need to pick what you find fun.

Each and every class has their own strengths and weaknesses/bad matchups so there is a certain amount of balance.

Druid's best/easiest leveling is in catform which is up close and personal, so if you're not into melee at all druid won't solve that problem...you CAN play druid like a mage but it's not going to be efficient until much much later . Typical example : Druids don't get a quick/cheap spell to keep mobs from running up to you [roots only work indoors and isn't exactly a fast cast] , compared to mages which have a whole range of frost spell that slow + stop mobs from getting near you.
Druid you'll probably be casting your spells, and then shift into a melee form when they too close.

However if you want to experience 4 classes in one without leveling 4 classes, go druid.

Druid leveling is much like a rogue [once you get catform] , so it's high DPS and stealth and all based on energy and combo points.

Druid instancing/group you'll probably be either a healer [priest] and casting the pretty descent healing arsenal of spells you got...
or
you'll be tanking in bearform using the warrior's rage mechanism. As bear you generate crazy aggro , so easy to keep mobs hitting you and not all the squishy clothies .

..but the awesome part, you can literally fill any role in a group..if a group got a healer+tank you dps..and trust me catform dps can get pretty hectic and actually gets close to other DPS classes like rogues.

And then there's always the Balance Specced druids which is much like playing a mage where you cast spells in a distance using mana pool].

I love my druid atm, actually tried other classes but i keep missing the flexibility i had. If i need to take on an elite or mutliple mobs, i go bear and tank 'em...shape out heal etc. If it's squishies i DPS them in catform . If i can't get close, i get them with moonfire/starfire like spells . If i just need to get a quest item in the middle of a village, i stealth ..grab it and run. You obviously get a few other non-combat forms like aquatic form and travelform. Few classes can keep up with a druid in water , too bad there isn't alot of quests/stuff happening in the water .

Oh and you get flightform at lvl 68 , saving you at least 800g where other classes have to learn + buy a flying mount at lvl 70 (but that's jsut a bonus, i wouldn't pick druid because of this).

No way! I looooooove flight form! but okay, I wouldn't play a class just because they get flight form. But prowling ...... a whole new world of exploration awaits once you can sneak about. :D

Only thing i -can- complain is the lack of Crowd Control [you only get roots which don't work indoors so pretty much useless in dungeons] abilities , but i guess can't have em all.

Druid is a very fun class but feral bearform=protspec waroir cat=not so good rogue but still fun i found out with my tanking gear i cant dps very well in feral cat form so you have to have diffrent sets of gear.Ferals cant heal under presure they get interupted too much unless you put a few points in resto like 10.

Like my druid but i hate him vs shadow priests i die always.

Well ok, flightform does allow a few cool stunts to be pulled because it's instant cast. :D You can jump off a cliff and mid-fall shift into flightform and fly off.....where the guys with mounts have to stand still and all that to get onto their mounts. Same thing with travelform [basically you can run very fast]...i just wish we got a boost for it because once you get epic mounts it becomes obsolete....however it's still the fastest way to escape as it's again instant cast compared to a very slow 20+ second cast to get onto a mount.

Well yes, my spec is indeed like 40+ into Feral and 13 or so into Resto [reducing healing interruption and so on] . I see no reason NOT to put points in resto if you're going feral anyway, Furor and Omen of Clarity is pretty much feral must-haves but sits on the resto tree , so might as well pick up some of the other stuff on the way in that tree....

And yes eventually you will need to carry around 2 or 3 sets of gear..especially if you switch between a tank and healing role . Also in bearform forget about getting good damage [however mine is still not too shabby if i'm taking on 3 targets at the same time] , that's usually not the purpose. Bearform = huge amounts of HP, huge amounts of Armor and huge amounts of Aggro.
