Depends on what you mean by "how good is it"?
I think its pretty crappy, but its slowly improving.
Been with Standard bank but my view is that my level of service/benefits received have lowered. Charges are also high imho.
Anyone willing to recommend a private banking account at major banks?
Compared to what? I have both Investec and FNB online banking and they aren't much different as far as I can tell.
How good is online banking with Investec? That is a deal breaker for me as I hate going into banks.
+1 for Investec. I recently switched. They do not have any physical banks or ATMs. Functionality on their online portal is exactly the same as for FNB (as far as I can tell) though I do agree that FNBs is slightly better designed.
The huge benefit for me in switching to Investec is the fact that my private banker is about a million times better than anyone I have ever dealt with at FNB. You also never get asked to go into an office, if some documents need to be signed the banker comes to meet you at a time and place convenient for you. I have yet to meet my banker, and have opened the account from overseas (I am working internationally until early next year). I have my banker on whatsapp and it takes him on average probably 2 minutes to reply and then probably another half hour to come back to me with feedback/solutions to my queries. The experience between the two has been chalk and cheese for me.
Whats the qualifying criteria for an investec or rmb account these days?
Does 15mil in property mortgages count?? :crylaugh:
