Hi all

I am looking for some opinions on a robot vacuum.

1. Budget up to R5500
2. Do not want / need a mop function as we have wooden floors and no kids so it only takes up vacuum space / cost extra as far as I can see
3. Will primarily be used to pick up pet hair (we have a wirehaired dog) and dust - we have a 180 sqm house with a pretty simple layout. Only problem I see is our carpets but I will happily vacuum them myself if the Bot can't reach there

Any questions?

I have 2 of these and they work well for pet hair:

But will go read some reviews and stats on the one you proposed, thanks.

I got the second one. Bought this rater than the more expensive one sincce it is thinner and fits underneath all my furniture (something you may want to measure if this is important to you). It works well.

I did not even think of that! Thanks man.

I had the original Xiaomi Lidar vacuum. Worked great, and spares were easy to get on the net. Unfortunately it died after 4 years, and I decided to get the lite version, for the same reason above. It's definitely not as intelligent re mapping, but does get under the bed to sort out those dust bunnies - we have 4 dogs! Purchased via mia.co.za, was on special.

Roborock S5 still going strong. Think of getting a new one (S7 or S6 MaxV because cameras) and moving the older one upstairs.

They're relatively expensive but these Roborock vacuums work great.

There's a listing for J-series spares but clicking on it doesn't open up a page. I'll contact them about it.
They replied with a price list

Mop pads : R75.00
Hepa E-11 Filter : R175.00 (an operational spare is included with your purchase)
Side Brushes: R 200.00 (set of 4. An operational pair is included with your purchase)
Main roller brush: R 325.00

Seriously considering getting it at the end of the month. The spares sound relatively affordable. Any other similarly priced alternatives I should think about?

If you search Nannyvac on Google, a few of their products will show up that won't show up if you search for them on Takealot directly as the products are out of stock. They all seem to have lots of good reviews. Support has been responsive as well, which is a good sign.
