Hi guys,

I want to buy a table for myself and hubby, I'm looking at the Galaxy Tab 7 plus, or Galaxy 8.9 or maybe the Asus 10.1 +3g, I kinda would pref the 3G but would tether with phone if I have to.

What is currently the best tablet on the market with the least issues. I'm not a Android or Apple fan, just want the best for us. We both have Android phones.

Mainly office use functions like, reading/replying to mails, checking schedule's and keeping some product and project documents for reviewing and editing.

Thanks

Well, as much as I hate to say it...if its for office use. I would get the iPad 2 3G. It just seems to seamlessly integrate into the work environment.

I got rid of my Transformer because it had no 3G and I just wasnt happy with the email and calendar apps. For a decent one that actually suited me I had to pay R180 (which I didnt).

Im waiting to see what Ice Cream Sammich is like and I might try again but for now...nothing beats a laptop,

Highly recommend the Asus Transformer with keyboard dock.

+1, just watch for the lack of 3G. Not a problem for me as it uses less power and does not need another contract because of it. If I need to I tether with my phone.

samsung slate series 7 when they are available. very expensive though. (windows 7 slate)

I have a galaxy 10.1 and wife has an ipad 2. use the 10.1 far more. prefer the productivity apps but the ipad 2 does have better games.

Should I then rather wait for the Asus Prim launching soon ? Looking on the net at the Galaxy Tab 7 plus, or Galaxy 8.9, size seems very usable and not to big. Just OVER PRICED!!!!

If you like me and dont want 3G, HELL YES.

Well if they release the prime in Europe before 22nd December I will have mine by the 24th as I have people that's there on holiday with a cash card from me loaded and ready to go for a Prime+dock.

All Tabs seem massively overpriced in terms of cash buys in this country...

But Currently VC have some decent deals where the price of the tablet actually comes down to acceptable levels.

8.9 with 500mb contract - R299 pm x 24
10.1 with 500mb contract - R329 pm x 24

Given that the 500mb contract costs R149pm normally, you're paying

8.9 R150pm x 24 = R3600
10.1 R180pm x 24 = R4320

Hi guys,

Thanks for the reply I will go have a look at the 8.9 and 10.1, anyone having problems with any of them?

I do prefer one with 3G.

Go and use them in the shops. Try them out if you can. The iPads are the best at the moment, in my opinion, and are cheaper too. The only other tablet I would consider is the Asus EEE pad transformer prime.

With the new promotions from Vodacom with regards to the Galaxy tabs 8.9 and 10.1, should I go for that, get a 2gig data bundle a month.
