I mentioned in another thread that I have just quit and will be working from home.
I have a pretty descent keyboard for gaming (Zboard Merc) but it's TERRIBLE for typing, especially coding.
So what keyboard can you guys recommend? I don't mind it costing a good few hundred, but can't really afford it if it's around the 1k mark.
I want one that is great for typing, is available locally, and isn't going to break on me.

Thanks!

Really the best answer is the Gigabyte OEM keyboard. I am a coder and type a bazillion keystrokes a day. I'm currently using a company-supplied Microsoft keyb/mouse wireless combo, and it's just crap for everyday work. Today I ordered the Gigabyte OEM -- a little hard to find, but definitely the best. (also MS OEM optical mouse).

MS Natural keyboards are good, but they are like hen's teeth to find.

I abuse my keyboards most terribly - spillages, getting pissed off and thumping them, etc etc etc ... so an expensive keyboard that I'm replacing every 3-6 months is really not the best idea. The Gigabyte is such a good keyboard and so cheap (~R100?) that I really don't care if i go through them like toilet paper. Trust me on this, there simply is no better solution for the pro coder. At home I have about six keyboards in stock, including a very expensive MS wireless set, and the Gigabyte is the one I use all the time. The others are just expensive crap.

Suggest Wingate Computers for supply. They don't keep stock but will order in for you. That's where I got my last 3, and where I'm getting my work one tomorrow.

For typing I recommend any Genius PS2 keyboard, its cheap (I think under a R100). I found that typing with a usb keyboard to be frustrating. Don't ask me why, but USB keyboard can't handle someone hacking away at 60 words a minute.

For me the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboards are great.

Info

Been using them for close on 5 years now. I see that landmark has it for under R400 Source could not find the wired one on Take 2

Doesn't that block in the middle slow you down?
