Best uncapped internet ISP right now?

Hi all,

I'm currently on MWEB but their throttling policies are really pissing me off. On my 2mb line once I use a fairly small 70GB of data I'm throttled, and my internet starts crawling and sites such as Twitch.tv and YouTube become unusable.

When I originally signed up they told me there was ZERO throttling, only shaping, and now I'm looking to change.

Can anyone tell me what the best uncapped ISP is out there right now? I'd like whoever has the least draconian usage policies :(

FWIW, I don't even consider myself to be a big downloader.

Afrihost Business. Always

R497 for Unshaped Data+Line

I got the openweb gold leon 2mb deal... it works great in the evenings, but during the day it is absolutely crap... i use my account mostly for streaming when we home...

i use on average 300gigs a month... will the afrihost business product work? if i want to stream during the day?

Yes.

Thats interesting .... seems to me that this is common. And heres the thing, Gold Leon, Gamers or whatever package ... seems daytime is ,,, whats the word I would use ... yes crap.

I'm on the 2mb premium MWEB and couldn't be happier. No complaints, no idea what you expect but for my use it's been rock solid.

I am using Afrihost Unshaped Uncapped Business 2Mbs for R399 a month and it is worth every penny.
It just works... all day, everyday.
None of this star rating, office hours throttling, after hours download queue.
So far it is the best ISP ADSL data account I have ever had.

Spread the world brothers! Agree completely ;)

How is the standard Afrihost uncapped? (10MB) - I currently use between 250GB and 450GB (on a busy month)

Mainly do NNTP and streaming (NTV/Netflix/Hulu/Youtube)

You will be unshaped 24/7 - so you will always have your full line speed :D

However - you should sign up for a standard uncapped, as it is very easy to upgrade to business if needed and standard accounts do not shape streaming at all.

Streaming will be unshaped but NNTP will be shaped if the network is under strain :( See my reply in the other thread you posted in about the AH account (Cant remember which one it was :D)

Saw it, thanks - waiting for Telscum to get back to me regarding cancellation, at this stage they expect 30 days notice on a service that doesn't work.

:) thank you...

I dont want to sound like a broken record, but some info... my line with Telkom is 4mb, but as i said, i use the openweb 2mb gold.. if i change to afrihost 4mb standard uncapped i can stream comfortably without any buffering during the day? i pay R300 for openweb, so R100 extra woudnt hurt too much, so long as i can watch "Orange is the new black" on rainy days like this :D

Yup, you should be able to stream with no issues at all!
