Best value for money digitial camera

Hi ,

Could u guys enlighten me on a good solid but not expensive digital camera.Iam needing it for travelling.My budget is around R2500.I basically want to take good quality pics.I dont need any fancy things like recording HD vids etc , or fast moving images.

Saw the Canon SX210 for 2600. Not sure how good it actually is, considering my lack of camera knoweledge, but loved the zoom and feel of it. I'm getting myself the Fuji F500EXR but that's around 2900.
