Best weight gain supplement.

Have a look at Ensure, its found in most supermarkets. It helped me about 4 years ago when i wanted to gain weight

I am 1.71m, currently 65kgs. I used to be around 55/56kgs, and dropped as low as 52kgs when I went through a bad depression. Here is my advice in terms of diet.

Lots of milk. I currently drink less than I used to, but used to drink about 500 mls of full cream milk plain, and about 500 mls of full cream in my protein shake. At the moment, I would estimate I am specifically drinking 500 mls - 1 liter of milk every second day (outside of my regular dairy consumption).

Speaking of protein shakes, I used to use Evox mass builder (I think that's the name) regularly. I still use it, but only about 3 times a week at the moment. I also have have a Food Lover's Market Muscle Mania smoothie every day for breakfast (5 times a week).

I eat "bad" takeout once or twice a week (KFC/McDs). I eat "good" takeout (Nandos or Food Lover's Market) about twice a week.

Otherwise I try to regularly eat mince, eggs, bacon, steaks. Basically anything high protein.

Unfortunately I also have quite a sweet tooth. I drink at least half a liter of coke every day (usually a glass with lunch/supper).

I recommend you use MyFitnessPal to track your diet, at least when you start off. Obviously, I also work out at home, and try to exercise 2-4 times a week, depending on work and my social life. I never workout less than twice a week.

Hi all,

I would like to put on quite a lot of weight. Due to my fast metabolism i find this very difficult i think ive gained 5KG's in 4 years.

Please dont suggest I eat more because that doesnt help, I usually get quite full quickly.

Ive got my eye on Evox 5XL 5KG Muscle Meal (R630) can anyone vouch for this product or suggest a better one?

Stats:

1.7M
60KG
Budget R800 Max

Try cheap cereals or pap.

You will need to track yr caloric intake (cronometer.com) and get a food scale to assist you. No need for cheap mass gainers. Eat clean...lots of cruciferous veggies, fruit, brown rice, protein and fats. Dnt use mass gainers as you will only get fat and mess up your testoterone levels. Instead mix your whey protein with milk to up the calories per shake...lift heavy weights with compound movements and keep cardio to a minimum. Avoid estrogenic foods such a soy, peanuts, doughnuts etc. My 2c

Im also struggling with weight gain after a terrible illness....I was ( before the illness) between 79-82 kg, and now weigh a low 59kg ( last month I went for check up)...

I'm unemployed and do not have much money for whey protein, so Ensure it will be...wish me luck

Good day. I just happened to stumble upon this thread and was hoping you could help me. I also need to gain a lot of weight. I am currently 20kg underweight and recovering from chemo. I have always struggled to gain weight and it it getting to me on a social and personal level. PLEASE can you help me with a suitable eating plan to help me gain weight. I know I need about 4000 calories a day according to my research. I am 1.89m and weight 65kg and I am 39 years old.

Only saw this now. Welcome to MyBB (if you are still around). Happy to hear you are on the road to better health.

I would recommend spending a little bit of money and go to a dietitian for a meal plan. You are older, and I wouldn't recommend just eating to pick up weight. I would eat more and start a moderate (and supervised) training program to make sure that most of your weight gain is muscle. You will pick up fat, which is inevitable, but I think it would be healthier to work on overall body composition instead of just pure weight gain. However, I would take all advise here with a pinch of salt and speak to some medial professionals.
