you guys should know by now i'm also a nosy bugger, can I also get read only account to my 2x links if hardware support it ? :whistle:

BTW still happy with service, started playing LoL again and ping is fine, just had to add rest of the household IP's in a queue. might be upgrading my home account to 6mbps soon

Hello Marthin, your home link wont be an issue the other link at that golf place wont be possible, Ubiquiti decided to remove read only accounts on the new hardware :(

Mostly for browsing, and some streaming and downloading here and there. My current uncapped mobile connection sits at 0.25Mbps per second all day, takes almost 5 minutes just to open google...

I'd say go for shaped. We only shape torrent downloads on the shaped accounts so you wont have issues with streaming / browsing. 4mbps a must for netflix if you want to stream HD we suggest a 6mbps or more.
 
Level-7 I seem to have found myself in need of pings around the 20ms mark.
Unfortunately in games i don't get anywhere near that. Sitting on an average of 100ms.

If there is nothing we can do to lower my pings i will be forced to get an ADSL line for this.
Whats the progress on the fibre?

Hello MDKza!

I've just checked with the technical team they request that we please test by running a full stock setup : remove your router and connect your machine directly to the cpe or via a standard switch. Our team will gladly do some more adjustments to get your latency down. Are those local or international servers that you are playing on ?

We will keep you posted as to the fiber progress it's all in planning stages !
 
I pretty much have the same problem, Connections great for downloading, netflix/hulu and surfing, no issues. But gaming has become a headache with 100ms+ local latency, and consistent UDP loss.

I'm currently routing local gaming servers via my mikrotik to an LTE modem to compensate.

Yup. Also experiencing this.


Games are League of Legends EU (Riot Games), Hearthstone (Blizzard) and World of Warcraft (Blizzard).

In game latency is at least 200ms. On my PS4, Bloodborne (From Software) has difficulties keeping up during certain Co-Op encounters.

When I then immediately do a test, local latency is fine, and for the most past throughput is never a problem.

The above observations are from bypassing local networking gear, and pluggin the CPE directly into the computer. Also, I asked to be removed from NAPAfrica to see if helps.

Looking for an alternate service provider. I am living in Highveld, Centurion, so I should be covered.

Just want to find out something first. I like to do some online gaming and I need to view webinars and live streaming events. Last time I looked at a WISP option (many moons ago) I found that local lag kind of killed it for me. What kind of lag can I expect to get from my PC to the first hop inside the 'wired' part of the internet? What will the lag be to Europe? More specific Sweden ;)

Hello Wolfling!

Latency to Europe is in the region of 180ms and local 10-50ms depending on where. Our highveld tower is now live with fiber so that helps.

Give us a shout via our website www.level-7.co.za so we can check if your address has line of site.

We dont use anything from Telkom on our network so the price drops wouldnt make much difference. Im glad you are enjoying your connection!
