Beware iBurst Users !

Is there anyway we can bump this story to the MyADSL home page? I think its a pretty serious matter that requires iBurst's attention.
It can be justified with the importance of a user's online security, and the possible fact that some accounts have already been hijacked.

Yeah I think the admin of this forum should "bump" this subject to anywhere that forces a response from wbs.
We all pay alot of money for the service and we deserve a truthfull answer to this subject and not just be brushed off as if it's not important.

This brings to mind all those "dead" IPs I was getting as well as the many times when I got home that I could not connect, yet when calling helpdesk get told there is nothing wrong their side....sorta makes we wonder.

We know wbs read these threads so how about a response please.

and the response is.........*drum roll*

a radio add!

whoopee doo!

I'm too scared to disconnect now,,,what if it gets hijacked?

this will lead to:
me --> sue --> iburst
for trauma

Me getting worried about disconnecting now too since I just tried to access the bandwith monitor and it says my username/password is incorrect & i retried several times and had same thing

still no FU(ki|\|g responce from those TO$$Boxe$ ???

nice and useless ... if they want your money they will hound you untill you pay ... but dont think of getting a truthfull asnwer from them .... this hecticly smacks of Tel-Go-Fu(k yourself attitude .... tisk tisk .....

and here we thought we getting a better service ?? yeah and now that retard techie has disabled my auto bandwith meter email took me 4 days to get working ..... discusting !!!! utterly discusting ..

hope this will get responce ??? or maybe i should not even hold my breath on this one .... maybe we must take a bet on this to see if they give a flying @#%%$ to atually say something.....

I don't think cussing at them is quite the way to get any response, so lets give them a fair chance, say till Monday and if nothing happens request admin of MyADSL to bump this thread to somewhere that wbs are forced to respond.

Do you use @iburst.co.za or @wbs.co.za? The former seems to work.

Sorry, I havent been following the thread much, but cant you only access an account from a certain UTD.

So what would it help someone to steal your account information?

Im probably missing something, but you guys seem very worried.

i also thought the same thing.

on a side note if you have forgotten your password you can get it automatically sent to you via email using the iburst control panel thingy on their site.

If all what you say is true then why bother with passwords in the first place since if your account is tied to your modem there is no need for the pwd.

And if your account is tied to your modem anybody with access to your modem will be able to use it on their PC by just calling helpdesk and asking for the pwd.

i think the need for a password is for the windows terminal you use to dial up with aswell as for your email and personal details on the website.

my concern wouldnt be so much hijacking as much as the ability for someone to go onto ibursts site and play with some of your settings.

When I read the first post here I also thought that without the UTID that your specific modem sends it won't make much difference :/

Tried a while ago to help my friend out when his Iburst wasn't working, but his account details wouldn't work from my UTD.

Althought this is a problem since if someone changes your password they have access to all your information on the IBurst website, and they could probably buy more bandwidth for you to, lol.

When you phone to change your password they should at least try verify your identity, with ID number, bank account details, etc.. But this still wouldn't stop any cunning social engineer ;)

My trauma is getting worse......my left eye has started to blink uncontrollably.....

Still wont let me into bandwith monitor (wrong username/password) but it connects to iburst fine

& i use @wbs.co.za
tried using @iburst.co.za & it works fine:confused: Thanx, howcome this works???

Well, i dont think someone stealing you UTD and accessing your account is taken very seriously as a security threat.

I mean, its pretty easy to notice if your UTD is gone, you cant get to the internet.

Sometimes an account is properly assigned one utdid and sometimes it isn't.

I would suggest you check, I have been able to log on to other accounts a long time ago, and people have been stealing our b/w for a long time (use about 500mb according to du meter but over cap according to wbs) But it seems that they fixed this after we downgraded to 500mb limit.

Thats assuming I am at home when it happens, anyway we are drifting a bit off what we wanted wbs to answer, and that is all back on page 1, afterall we don't want to confuse them now do we.

um ja. But didnt his whole problem arise from peopel not being able to log in with their @wbs.co.za accounts?

So is thier still a problem thats new?

We are still waiting for Shaun Green or someone else from wbs to reply, then again I guess they probably don't have any answers and hoping if they ignore this thread it will sink out of view.
