Beware large ATM cash deposits

Sounds a bit dodgy. FNB has strict security systems and procedures.
Placing an amount exceeding R10k in one envelope and feeding it into an ATM machine? I wouldn't do it simply because I'm bit paranoid (i.e. it might get stuck, jam the machine, too much money for one deposit at a machine).

I have previously made an error when I deposited cash at an ATM. They called me the following day to let me know that R50 was 'missing', at which point I remembered that I kept it to pay for parking. Problem solved.

I hardly ever draw or deposit cash.... but I do handle a lot of cash.
I use it to make payments directly.

LOL....FNB again!!

If this bank is not declining card transactions come month-end, they're stealing money from their customers!

Just....a bummer.

I made a cash deposit at standard bank with these new atm that take cash without the envelope. I could swear the fkn machine robbed me of R200. I counted 10xR200 when I left home, then it only rings up R1800! But because I didn't count it again at the atm it could have fallen out my pocket for all I know. Ffs, I hate these new instant deposits! Wtf is stopping the machine from reading my R200 as R20?? Fkn retarded, and the in branch deposit fees are just as retarded.

You don't put it in an envelope, at least not at the FNB machines. The notes are inserted just as they are into the slot and the machine counts them there and then. You'd know immediately if some were missing. The problem in this case is the machine jammed and didn't give the rejected notes back. I love FNB's response: "customers should not enable jamming of the machine". LOLWUT

They must just change the colour of the envelopes to brown, then it will feel proper mafioso.
