Has anyone managed to get BF2 working in CO-op mode? There is a CO-op 3 mod available but I haven't been able to get it working yet

Err.. you mean humans against bots or something?

Apparently it's possible by starting a single player game, and then having lan clients connect to your IP. But then you're stuck to the 16 player maps :(

Haven't tried any of the mods.

Got a bunch of mates that lan party together but some don't have SA broadband (i.e. anything over 56k). They're dead keen to try BF2 though.

Unless you've got a monster CPU and crapload of RAM I wouldn't recomend using the mods. I tried 32 players on my old PC and was laggy as hell. 16 players was fine tho. You and your friends can have a decent game with 16 players.

Got the PC, how do I do it?

We've all got the latest patch, got the CO-OP 3 mod installed as per the instructions, but can't get the bloomin game to start a COOP multiplayer game anyone else can see???

I used the first mod to come out so it might work differently now but try this.

1: Run the mod.
2: Start a normal (no bots) multiplayer map.
3: All your friends should see your game on the LAN server list page.
4: Let them join the game, then exit the game.
5: Now exit the game from your side. Your friends should still see the game that you created.
5: !!NB!! Don't let them refresh their screen.

What the mod normally does is turn your normal single player maps into 32 player maps. So:

6: Start one of the new 32 single player maps.
7: Once you're in let your friends join the game that's still on their LAN server list.

That should do it.

What if they just connect directly to your IP?

the option to connect to the ip doesnt exist for lan , if i remember correctly.

the trick was to have a joinable game, get it on the clients display, then start the different game, then click connect on client

The option does exist for lan - was using it last night to connect to my local server. Just wanted to ensure I was connecting to it via local lan ip, and not via hamachi :p

welll.... something is unavailalable.... can't remember what it was......

If u connect in offline mode, you cannot connect to an IP address, only if u connect in on-line mode which is a bugger is u have alnparty at a place that doesn't have a connection :-(
