BF2 Crashes

I have a 300watt PSU so I doubt it's that. Maybe I should unplug the internal modem from the Motherboard. But that is not even in use, thus it's not using any power :confused:

None what so ever, last try i was still in the scope on the sniper rifle, after about 10 shots and then the screen just goes black and the PC restarts.

I use a crap arse headset could be that :confused: maybe I'll give it one more try tonight.

1. Will remove one ram stick
2. Will unplug my headset
3. Will remove the internal Modem

But come to think of it, I think my headset might be the problem. It's a USB headset some stupid arse one ear+mic headset. With very dodge only drivers.

Even though I didn't use it I had to use it to set up the mic for online gaming.

O well, maybe there is a few more things I can try tonight while I try and find the WoW patches.
 
its definitly worth it, perseverance is the key, and once you get the system stable you'll find yourself getting smoked regularly but once you get the upgraded weapons it gets much easier. Then if you're feeling sneaky, go out and get the expansion pack and you get even better weapons :)
 
Last night I have come to the conclusion that it's the GFX card that is fk'd

It did the same thing playing WoW. And WoW ran perfectly on my Onboard card (64MB shared memory) I'm going to return the card today and will prob just pay in the axtra bit on a HD3650 Radeon card. I'm not going to struggle anymore going forward :D

Ive crashed in BF2 though - big time :P

Crashed all sorts of vehicles, kamakazi'd planes and helicopters into tanks and units, car-bombed unsuspecting troops and vehicles with considerable damage..

Bf2 is rad - cant wait for Bf3

And I was doing each and every driver on my machine. I was trying all the tricks in the book. When I eventually gave up and thought it was BF2 I went to play WoW. Even WoW crashes :eek: Now WoW can run on anything, it was playing flawlessly on my Onboard 64MB card. Right there I realised that the card must be fuk'd.

Can't be heat as the card is not even on for 20 minutes when it started.

Damn stupid arse piece of shyt. I will never buy Nvidia again. It made me struggle for 2 damn days straight.

Luckely Simplicity will send a driver today to come pick it up and then they will send it to the supplier and replace it if need be :) Told them I want a 3650 if it's fk'd I'll pay in the difference. They just need to confirm with the supplier if that is ok.

isnt the 6200 pretty inexpensive? I would get it back and keep as a backup spare if needed.
I wouldnt go so far as to say you should never buy nvidia again because of that card, it is a fairly low end card and i dont think i would even concider it as an option for gaming... or very low end gaming, BF2 has some intensive gfx. I bought a card a while back ATI 9600 Pro, first time i ran Bf2 it ran like a dream, then it got progressively worse and worse until i couldnt even play the game nemore, the card just got worse and worse and eventually died completely.
Spend 1k or upwards on a decent card and you shouldnt regret your purchase, the ATI you are looking at getting is worth it and you should buy it regardless, you wont be able to push your GFX up to high on the 6200, but you can on the HD ATI card, with GFX up high, you can view the other side of the battlefield and wont experience any visual lag...
Spend the money, get a stronger card and youll thank me later :p
 
A classic like BF2 will never die, BF3 will STRUGGLE and probably FAIL in trying to improve on BF2's successful formula.

All they can really do is;

1. Make it look better (like, more realistic)
2. Add more guns / maps / vehicles
3. Make things destructible (like in COD4, with bullets going through things)

I hope BF3 will be the next step... but at the moment, I just need something 'new' in my life :D

Yeah its always hard to bring out a game better than the original.
BF2142 was an uber fail imo - was fun for a little while but then got extremely boring for some reason, i couldnt even work it out, why i was bored of it and wanted to go back to BF2. I guess its just the dynamic of the game and in Bf2 it was awesome, flying changed heavily in 2142 which was part and part of my decision to leave it. I like my Heli BF2 style..

I think EA knows that 2142 was a failure and i reckon Bf3 is going to fix that up. Hopefully...
 
BF2142 was a fail, I liked it for about 2 weeks, then it just got boring.

I also love my Heli BF2 styles.
I fly the black hawk around a flag etc and people jump out, capture flag then I land and pick them up and fly around targets and the gunners destory and then repeat... love it!

I've also noticed that ALOT of new BF2 players are woman, everytime I play, I end up having 2/3 female squad members, generally they sound like moms playing (because of the conversations that happen on VOIP)

... I like ;)

No... but I'm not kidding either.
You can't really tell (or I can't) but if you join the squad and listen to the chats, you'll figure it out ;)

I haven't played in about 2/3 months but when I did (prior to the break) I played 8/9 games in a roll, different days, I always ended up with woman in my squad, loved it - they play very well too!

yeah just dont let em fly or drive anything - if they do, stay clear away :p

Nice to have females playing though - nice difference to ball tight 12 year olds and their squeeky voices...
Now if only i could get my gf to play... pfft, i can only dream..
