bf2 patch

they "should" roll back, that is the recommended advice!

this game has not been running a day on my machine without some problem! Wonder if they will refund me........ NO! LOL! May aswell been released by telkom! HAHAHA

Some news from the front lines... what should have happened last week!

from SGS "We have reverted our Battlefield 2 servers to the original version since EA have withdrawn the v1.01 patch. EA have posted a community update regarding the reasons for withdrawing the patch and info on how to unpatch your clients.

All clients will have to unpatch their games before playing on our servers. We applogogise for the inconvenience but this was out of our control."

pffft... EA should get their fliping act together... how can a memory leak "leak" throught their test labs and QA personnel... typical EA... rushing games for the bucks... aarrghhh... i have already re-installed BF2 twice now... and of late the SGS servers have been quite laggy...

still fun though... :P

I posted this on the SGS forum regarding Co-Op or trying to play Co-Op without having to connect to the net. It's just a theory I have about using the shortcut command lines. I haven't tested it out yet, and will only be able to this weekend. Can you see if it works?

1. Have all your friends start the game and set up an Offline account for themselves. They must take note of the spelling of their accounts as they might need it later. Now everyone except you must exit the game.

2. Start a single player game. Once your in the game pause it by pressing the "P" key or whatever you set pause to be.

3. Now go to all your friends and go into the properties of their BF2 shortcut. Now add this command line to the target: +joinserver [Your IP] NB - without the brackets. Let them start and see if that works.

4. If this doesn't work you may have to add this line first: +playername [your friends Offline accountname] NB - without the brackets.

Here is an example of how my command line would look if I had to join you and your IP was 192.168.0.1:

"E:\games\eagames\bf2\bf2.exe" +playername |BFC|Scart +joinserver 192.168.0.1

Try it first without the +playername command to see if it works, then with.

Has anybody got this to work? Would be awesome to get a few bots in on a multiplayer game.

Can't play online without horrible lag (Iburst), come to think of it, can't even get mail...lol (tongue in cheek).. :D

:( :( :( Sh*t, i've been searching all over the net for a answer, most guys in other countries just post back, "Just play online" and then kill themselves laughing when i tell them my situation with iburst.

a hotfix for the "bad patch" is in the works, maybe next week.

the bigger patch i got no ETA or info on it though...

yeah that sux that we cant test it, any news on that?

cool thanks, will have to play something else till then LOL!
