BFBC2 is this game just bad or what?

Hey guys

I just recently got my bfbc2 running again, had updating issues.

Now i just wana know if the hit reg is terrible or is something wrong my side.
eg.

We set the charge and i was covering the plant from a window with some sniper rifel. (the one with max damage that makes one hellova noise). Some guy comes and starts defusing so i take aim and shoot him in what i thought was his head. The xhair changes to show i did infact hit him but nevamind. I take aim and shoot again, same story. By the third time i just gave up...

Is this normal? it says i did hit him but i duno, the hit reg seems very very random to me. Is there anything i should set on my side to optimise the game?
 
The hit reg can be dodge on occasion, but mostly its just because the feel is different. With sniper you've got bullet drop so you need to compensate. Needs to be a headshot for single shot kill, esp with the earlier snipers.

Make sure your ping is <200 else you've got no chance.

Also, expect to die a lot until you become better.
 
Ive unlocked all the sniper rifels, and im aware of the bullet drop and and such but the guy was like 20m infront of me...

Guess the reg is just wierd
 
Oh and another thing, none of my stats seem to be saved....is that normal?
 
A mate of mine had the same problem yesterday with the M95 too... shot a guy in the upper chest area but he didn't die (realistically he would have no chest left), he also got that hit reg thing on the cursor. I put it down to server lag or client lag.

No thats not normal. Are you playing on unranked servers?
 
I recently got back into BC2 after about a 6 month break. I was surprised to see the new maps and they really are great, felt like a whole new game.

I think your problem is more to do with lag, I also get it sometimes.

Yeah I occasionally wonder a bit too, but mostly its fine.

Hit reg is inherently not "solvable"...its just a question of how well the developers fool you. The BF devs have a bit of an uphill battle compared to say CoD devs because of things like bullet drop, bigger maps, more players etc.
 
How can i check if a server is ranked or not?

Coz if i check my weapons and stats and such it still says i have 0 kills with all my weapons.

On the lag side of things. I played games like CS for years and they had rates which you would set according to your line speed. Is there something like that here with BFBC2?
 
the server will have a soldiers badge (rank?) icon. Check the filters in Server Browser for the icon, then see which servers have. Most, if not all, servers in SA are ranked. The stats sites can take a while, a couple of hours sometimes. Just make sure you are clicking Update - it doesn't do it automatically.
 
K well, ive been playing and this reg thing is REALLY annoying. I think i remember why i stopped playing this thing in the first place.
 
Hardcore imo is a lot better with hit reg.

Also sniper rifles on non hardcore is lame, because no matter which sniper rifle you use you always need more than one hit. Even if you have the increased damage perk.

The best sniper rifle to use on non hardcore is the one that's semi automatic, it takes three shots but you can shoot them with high speed.

But I still love this game

no dude! the SV98, M24, M95 and GOL all take enemies out with 1 hit if its in the head area. With the damage perk and depending on distance, you can take okes out with 1 shot to the chest.

btw, the SV98 is the best for <500m shots. Really loving this gun atm, even running around in an assault role no scoping!

Then I never hit the head in non hardcore, every time I play sniper I always need more than one shot.

Unless its hardcore then I always take them down in one shot.
 
play HC , and dont moan lol, its a BF game! you should be used to it if you played bf2 back in the day :o. I sometimes find that my m95 chest hits dont reg properly and it does let off some swear words but its just a game. chill. If i want a good war game i play BF , if i want to pawn kiddies i play cod ! haha

Do lots of people in SA still play this btw? Thinking of picking up a copy for the mp.
