Biased Computer column in newspaper today

Simply put, access speed determines how quickly things appear on your screen. At the bare minimum, Telkom's 192 Kbps (kilobits per second) at R270 a month is six to 10 times faster than an ordinary dial-up account, and more than adequate for the average home user.

Ok now what are these poepals smoking. Laughable. More false advertising fuel against Telkom.

Please note I am currently trying to quit smoking after 15 years. Anything said by me for the next 4-8 weeks (starting 31/10/05) should be ignored as I will rip your head off and defecate down your neck if you get on my nerves.. and everyone gets on my nerves right now

Let us derail the thread!

Well done. I have given up for nearly four years(after smoking 80 a day) and you can do it. The next 3 weeks are hell because of nicotine withdrawal symptoms but thereafter is purely your mind that needs convincing that it is a bad idea to really enjoy that one you enjoyed per day. The rest was never really nice and cost a lot of bucks and caused a lot of lung problems

Thanks for the Vote of confidence. Right now I actually feel like my skin wants to peel itself off my body and pull me brain out through my ears its like my skin is moving all the time. Its the worst feeling I've ever had. (and I've had a few various situations of bad feelings).

The money and lung problems dont bug me.. Too much I mean currently its worse in city centers than in a 10x10 m room with somebody smoking 20 a day, In Large Citys like New York, smokers in the country have better lungs than non-smokers in the city. As to the money is my "pleasure" and I'll just be spending it on something else for myself.

Only reason I'm stopping is that bad taste in my mouth the next morning!

Though my doctor spoke to me the other day and he said "I quit smoking 10 years ago and I have to go for HIV tests quite often as you can imagine in this line of work. If those tests come back positive tomorrow, the first thing I do is walk across the street and buy a Pack of Camels because there is only one thing I can truely tell you about smoking and that is that its FO*&^%N LEKKER"

But I am trying.. its just DAMN HARD!

/derail off

Zyban dude, its legal and its like being goofed for 2 months :D
I quit after 16 years in literally 3 days.
Worked for me and I was at about 20-30 a day.

edit: and you dont have to go cold turkey:)

I agree one 100% with your doctor. My poison will be 2 packets of Stuyvesant

I'm on the Zyban. I have been on it for 11 days now, But its not doing anything to me other than this stupid numbing sensation on my forehead which is really becoming annoying (it starts 45 min after I take a tablet, fades away after 4-6.. and kicks in again when I take the next one)

I did basically go cold turkey though. I smoked my last pack and a half on sunday (had to finished them all :D), and have not touched one since then... But I'm going mad LOL
