has any one bought from bid or buy here, and if so, what did you get and are u satisfied?

I see alot of laptops going for below market price with warranties there.. so am tempted..

yes bought my first laptop adapter on the weekend at it was delivered on monday morning. very very satisfied. thanks to the forum i learnt what a generic thingamabob was and it was half the price i was quoted for a similiar adapter.

i've bought a wii game and it was delivered within 3 days and in perfect condition.

I would highly highly recommend using a trusted seller though, cause if you do get screwed over you can atleast claim some compensation.

I would not buy expensive things from BOB considering the recent stuff that has happened.

Small things like 200-300 bucks is fine if you get ripped off but it hurts when your 4-7k laptop never arrives :D

some guys on the forum recently got ripped R6k for a LCD screen by those scammers in Heidelburg

I've bought many items from BoB. You just have to careful and follow the golden rule on any action-type-sales-site -- if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.

I usually only buy from sellers that have either very good ratings and have been around a while, or if they are "Verified Users" that cover the selling price of the goods advertised.

It's also very good to use the Community Watch forum to check for scammers and tricksters... :)

i bought my ps3 from bidorbuy, and a few other stuff...

....my rule of thumb is, make sure guy has high rating 98% rating plus, and has more than 15 ratings

verified sellers (or whatever its called) is a also a good sign

I've made over 80 purchases off Bidorbuy from routers to cell phones to cell phone accessories to micro sd cards to Sub woofers..

There is a lot of junk on there but touch wood I've never been burnt.

You build up a repoire with some of the sellers.

A suggestion.
Once you have decided on a product, paste the screen name of the seller here. Many of us have done business there, either selling or buying and maybe the seller is known to us and you might get a personal opinion regarding the seller.

Obviously you have to make the decision and accept the consequences for that.
Check the sellers ratings. Check the negative comments and compare it to sales. 3 negative comments compared to 3000 good sales will normally indicate that the guy is solid.
The negative comments will also indicate the sellers attitude towards his buyers.

NB Ask the right questions before placing a bid. always ask questions. Don't take anything for granted. There are many loopholes in the description of products.

Ive also bought many items and had no problems. Use the ask a question function, buy from sellers with almost all positive ratings. If you are careful everything should be fine. If you are reffering specifically to the laptops listed by RonnieF I would be careful. I think he's a scammer.

Bidorbuy rocks. I buy things on there quite often. Just make sure the seller has been trading for a while and has a good rep.

Also if you plan on buying something for lets say 5k try deal in cash and not eft or deposit regardless how long the people have been there and how good their rep is.

Last couple of years im buying from bidorbuy.
Some of the items i bought worth over 15k.
i just transfer the funds in there a/c.
Never have any problems with EFT.
Most people against bid or buy, never bought anything from there.
small fraud cases you can find everywhere, even on ebay.
never hade problems, until few days ago.
But never lost any money.

Few tips.

Firs check the sellers rating (feed back) If he/she has lots of ratings then please check what he/she used to sell, if he/she used to sell all the cheap stuff then buy cheap stuff from them,
dont buy expensive stuff,

How long the seller is member of BoB.
Ask few questions about the product you intersted in.
Some seller are dodgy in product description.
before you bid read the terms carefully. etc.

Good luck.

Small fraud cases, you call 200k small?

The difference is ebay will give your money back if you do not receive your goods if you put 5k into someones account via bid or buy and they turn out to be scammers bye bye 5k.
