Not rock throwing but same area affected in Durban

Durban woman stabbed and robbed on N2 highway

A woman was stabbed and robbed after her vehicle broke down at the notorious Spaghetti Junction in Durban on Thursday.

According to PT Alarms spokesperson Trishen Govender, the woman was with her daughter when she experienced car trouble while travelling south on the N2.

Govender said a man approached them and tried to break a window.

The woman and her daughter tried to escape by jumping out of the vehicle, but the man allegedly chased the older woman.

“The suspect stabbed her on the left hand and stole her handbag.”

She should be glad she didn't get raped while her daughter was forced to watch.

Pathetic.

Female motorists are urged to be extra cautious when stopping or during a breakdown. Lock doors and close the vehicle's windows. Immediately alert your towing service and a family member of your location,

Phone your towing service or a family member because phoning the cops will help you nothing. Either way, phone an ambulance first.... oh wait... uhm....

Make sure you choose a safe place to breakdown. /s

Why? Why do people need to do this? Surely if your car breaks down you don't have to fear for your life.

Lock away and throw away the key, preferably with a door just wide enough for a bottle of rice water mixed with some soya so you don't die

You are far kinder than me, I would be more inclined to administer a protracted and painful death, in full view of the public.

Durban man dies after 'rock-throwing' incident on notorious highway

An alleged rock-throwing incident on a Durban highway has claimed the life of a Chatsworth man.

Phildon Chetty, who died during the early hours of Friday, was laid to rest on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Capt Nqobile Gwala said a case of culpable homicide was being investigated.

“It is alleged that on August 27 at 3am, Chatsworth police responded to an accident scene on the Higginson Highway, eastbound between Westcliff and Bayview.

“On arrival, police noticed a vehicle on an embankment which was extensively damaged. The driver of the vehicle had succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The matter is still under investigation
