There is a video on my whatsapp which shows a new modus operandi:

They start a fire under the bridge in the one lane of the dual carriage way, and then force you to only use the one lane for easier targeting.

Rocks thrown at M19 motorists

Durban - A Reservoir Hills resident is warning others of a potential danger on the M19 after a rock was thrown at his BMW on Saturday night.

It was the second incident on the M19 within 24 hours.

Goolam Shabudin, a motor mechanic, and a close friend were returning from Chris Hani (North Coast ) Road.

About a 100m from the Reservoir Hills M19 off-ramp, he saw litter on the road.

Shabudin, a father of two, said that the stretch of road was poorly lit and some parts did not have street lights.

“I took my eye off the road to glance at what was next to the car. When I looked up, I saw a man standing behind the crash barriers holding something.

“He threw a rock at my car.

“There was a loud bang. I must have blanked out and instinctively slammed on the brakes causing the car to spin around and face the oncoming direction,” Shabudin said.

The rock slammed into the bonnet and bounced over the front windscreen.

Shabudin said he turned the car around and headed for home. He said he reported the incident to the Sydenham police.

He declined to open a case because he had no faith in anyone being caught.

On Saturday morning, Rene Sookraj, 31, a Westville resident, veered off the road and crashed her Hyundai i10 into the barriers after a rock was allegedly thrown off the M19 Durban-bound Whittaker Road bridge.

They have the right to be exterminated... they certainly don't act humane... can we still classify them as human?

Well this fool is part of the problem.

He's the same as the other brigade that refuse to vote, because it won't make a difference.

Has anyone suggested using Sharia law? A modified arm or x2 may be a bit troublesome in the throwing department.

He may have been drunk at the time. Or transporting illegal cargo; using that line of defence as an excuse.

'We’d have been killed waiting for SAPS'

DURBAN - A couple from Mpumalanga had their Easter holiday visit to the KZN South Coast ruined after they were robbed at gunpoint at a crime hotspot on the N3 highway near Spaghetti Junction (EB Cloete Interchange).

At about 5am on Saturday, the Ford Ranger in which Sarie and Andrei van Rensburg were travelling in came to a standstill after it hit boulders that had been placed on the road. While inspecting the vehicle’s punctured tyres, the Van Rensburgs, who live in Secunda, were held up by four men, one believed to be armed with a 9mm pistol and the others carrying knives.

Although two SAPS members had pulled over soon after the incident, they told the couple they were changing shift but would ensure other officers on duty would be dispatched to the scene. Shortly before 7am the officers arrived.

The Van Rensburgs said if it had not been for an off-duty metro policewoman who lived nearby, they believe they might have been killed while waiting for SAPS assistance.
