Terrorism happened to be a convenient excuse to pass a law the government had wanted to pass for years. The same thing is going on in the UK. Terrorism, a truly minor threat, is being used to stoke the fears of the herd so they enthusiastically give up hard-won freedoms.

So much for the US being the home of the brave. More like the land of the cowering sheep.
