Big changes expected at Telkom: report

This is potentially a good thing, at the very least the flattening of management layers.

Well paranoid as I am about draconian market control scenarios not to mention Telkom's dubious MO in recent decades I see this move as positive. It shows that there is willingness to give free and fair competition a go. I have always believed that a streamlined customer centric Telkom is well positioned to emerge as a driving force in African telecoms.

TBH, this makes me understand why the Call Center staff seem so incompetent, maybe they just lacking motivation and drive because they think they are going to be let go of, and that there jobs are not safe, hence the dont care attitude..... Just saying... It can happen, and they could possibly be sitting with the, AAARGH!!!! I DONT GIVE A FLYING F@#$ attitude....!!!

innovation is the only tool they have to stave off job losses

what somewhat concerns me about the voluntary severance route adopted by Telkom is the fact that they aren't re-skilling people or seeing people move to other ICT firms
