Big Cosatu and Saftu strikes planned

South Africa’s biggest labour union federation will stage a national strike on 24 August to protest against the rising cost of fuel and food and continuing power cuts.

The planned work stoppage will also represent “a response by the workers to the ongoing class warfare directed at them by both public and private sector employers,” the Congress of South African Trade Unions said in an emailed statement on Monday.

Members of the public need to hold all the KFC's hostage so we can put an end to this...
Could the muppets perhaps strike in the right places, I mean Luthuli house, the presidents residence, you know inconvience them, not normal people.
They won't strike at their Masters house...
That wouldn't be ayoba...

Voetsek - you are the problem.
1) You are part of the Tripartite Alliance - you are 1/3 part of the decisions that resulted in this mess.
2) Your sanctioned strikes asking for above inflation increases contributed to the problem.

The hypocrisy is next level.

Why must go and protest at the Russian embassy. It is their beloved comrades which are a big part of the problem.

Durban solid waste workers hosting a trial run. Rubbish collection and street sweeping etc halted due to overtime dispute. Sad part is it will be hatdly noticeable in some areas.

A strike against the cost of living?... I can see this being written about in history.

"On the 24th of August, Coasatu went on strike, and on the 25th of August the cost of living in South Africa dropped drastically. Economists and big business worldwide were astounded by this simple yet effective solution to what was until then considered to be a mind boggling problem. Coasatu has since become an international organization that steps in whenever countries experience economic turmoil. "

The cost of living is directly linked to western ideas and colonization.

Before Jan Van Riebeeck landed on these shores, no one had to PAY for electricity, running water, waste disposal or even KFC. But along comes the west with its western ideals, and suddenly the cost of living starts going up, and now we suddenly have to pay for things like electricity.

By striking, Cosatu hopes to hasten the collapse of these western tendencies and take us back to a time before that evil Van Riebeeck landed and started increasing the cost of living.
