I've never had that problem once. I don't receive anything in the post anymore except traffic fines, and even half of those never arrive. Every bank I've ever dealt with was happy to accept a printed PDF document as proof of address. FNB even allows you to email and upload FICA documents to them digitally.

Even had one, that did not want to accept a printed version of documents, as he wanted the original full colour documents. And had another idiot, that did not want to accept certified copies, all duly stamped ...

Upfront, I would like to say that I would be elated if this materialised. I would love to have a facility like this where I can send packages internationally in 5 - 10 days. Having declined several requests already for international shipping, I know that something like this would be an amazing opportunity to develop a small export-focused business.

My reality remains that the one time that I sent something internationally (handed in 17 December), its whereabouts is still a myth. Their "Track my parcel" facility was last updated on 20/12/2019. Toward the end of January, I was advised it was in Europe. Where? This is where I realised that my test case was going to end in failure.

Anyhoodle, I shall be watching this development, and maybe even put it to the test, with the hope that it will be a great opportunity for SMEs to start to successfully export.

So no real benefit to the SA consumer *yawns* might be a good thing seeing as its probably just going to be a platform to allow looting ...

I bet this will be an woocommerce based wordpress online shop from a backyard web designer.
There are no real specifications asked in this tender.
