What package are you on?


Was looking at the transmission VPS for $11.50 a month - any good? Is the 96mb of ram enough?

Can you get aa normal VPS with better specs for $10 or so and install your own torrent software on it?

Ok so Graham from Support just helped me out - really helpful chap! Gave me lots of useful advice and setup instructions etc. Basically, yes it is possible.

Will be signing up very shortly :)

You can get an umanaged OpenVZ VPS from AlienVPS for $10 p/month:
Diskspace: 50GB
Bandwidth: 500GB
Guaranteed RAM: 512MB Ram

I see their TOS specifically disallows torrents :)

Thanks, like you said though, their TOS specifically disallow torrents on most that I have found.

I think i'll give AeroVPS a go :) They seem helpful and their prices decent and they seem to allow torrents

Yep. Been with AeroVPS for 3 months now. It is a great service. The RAM supplied on that box is over enough. I can download really large packages via the transmission client without any issues. Another thing is the speed at which it downloades. For popular media I easily reach speeds of up to 2 megaBYTES per second. This means that an episode will download in like 4 - 5 minutes.

Because of AeroVPS I can have my downloads run while I am at work (only have a laptop) and get it quickly when I get back home. :D
