Biggest-ever MyBroadband mobile network tests

MyBroadband conducted the biggest ever mobile network testing project in South Africa earlier this year, measuring data speeds in all of South Africa’s major cities, several secondary cities, and a few small towns along the way.

The project kicked off in Gauteng in mid-May, and was made possible thanks to partnerships with Afristay, which covered the costs of accommodation around South Africa, and Huawei Mobile Devices, which provided devices with which to conduct tests.

Apart from the dubious "Network Quality Score", an interesting result.

Hehe. Vodacom... Best network claims still out there.
Cell C dying a slow death in my mind.

If they have to run the tests today, the picture will look totally different. For the last few days I have no signal in Rosebank and even download speeds in Roodepoort is terrible. This is on MTN's network.

Saying on which network would help

Doesn't MyBB have in interactive map of those tests? It can me more helpful than pictures only.

Cough . . Centurion is not Pretoria.
See the majority of the results according to the heat map is based in Centurion and Pretoria East.

@rpm @Jamie McKane On a side note would be nice if MyBB could release the development version of the speed test app so I can set the tests to run every 5 minutes, i.e especially when driving.

It would REALLY REALLY REALLY FkN help if we could ACTUALLY zoom into the pics, .... we have been complaining about THIS for the last 15 (FIFTEEN) YEARS !!!

Yet everywhere in the Western Cape Vodacom had big massive road side billboards stating they are the best and fastest network in the Western Cape.

No consequences.

I am one of them! MTN sucks in Cape Town. We had two identical phones and MTN hardly had signal!
For me mtn is the best in the western cape, everywhere I go speeds are fast. It does help that they basically only network nearby with a tower at my house.

Vodacom gives me edge in kraaifontein, can hardly make a call!( don't have that phone anymore as it was work contract, not sure if it is better by now)
