Biggest gaming let downs

Age of Conan used to be utter rubbish, but apparently it's improved immensely. The greatest improvement is in the bug fixes department. It's much more efficient.

The Verge and PlayR on GO and GAME on ESPN has much better good and bad lists of 2008

NOOOOOOOOOO... I was looking forward to playing Shaun White Snowboarding.
Oh well, I'll just do it the sensible way... try before you buy. :)

The amount of bugs in Need for Speed Underground really made the game very unenjoyable. I would have finished it in two or three days instead of the two weeks it took. EA promised a patch but there is still no sign of it. I am glad I did not buy the game.

All initial realized mmo has their issues in the first few months. One has to do but a google search so how badly wow did in its first months-

the REAL mmo failure without a question which the article writer fails to point out which i suppose slipped his mind was without a doubt HellGate London. It also has been canned outside korea without any more servers from feb 2009 period.

then we not even speaking about Tabula Rasa...

^ i was just about to post that...how could they forget that junk..poor waste of time and space./..

... and they wonder why Piracy is so bad. They hype games up so much and when people fork out so much money they find them rubbish to play. So rather test drive them first :p (then most people forget to pay for them if they really enjoy them :( )

Shaun white was not a let down! I have a wii and i use the wii balance board to play and it is awesome!Even if you just play it with the wii remote control its fun!

I have to agree with you on far cry 2 but I disagree with what you said about Shaun white.

a vampyre story? not alot of hype but i was really holding thumbs for it.
the divorce of the StarCraft 2 campaigns

Spore 2 was my biggest letdown. It was set to "redefine gaming"... BAH!

I like Far Cry 2 though.

Well, I have a PC and A Gamepad. So, I'll try it before I buy. This reminds me, I still need to buy Warcraft 3 legally.

This list is specifically pertaining to game released in 2008, automatically disqualifying Hellgate London and Tabula Rasa.

ALthough they both failed in 2008, they were both immediately disappointing in in 2007 :D

As for Red Alert II, It was touch and go. For many it was a disappointment, but it maintains a strong following who swear by it, saving it from the list.

And Shaun White averaged 62% and 63% on Metacritic for Xbox360 and PS3. Admittedly, the Wii version seemed a lot better, but as a whole, the franchise was a bit of a let down
