The Bilderberg group yearly meeting in Spain is almost finished, and as usual it is a secretive affair. No one in the mainstream media really knows what goes on in these meetings.

The participants of the 2010 meeting are here.

Don't you think ordinary people need to know what is being discussed there?

Is it a private or public function? That should answer your question.

It is obviously a private function and they have every right to keep the agenda private. However, I think it would be in the interest of the public to know what is being discussed given the status of the attendees.

You see that movie Hostel? The rich and powerful go and torture people for some relaxation.

Conspiracy theories aside, I would just like to know whether other people are also interested in knowing what is going on in these meetings. No use for idle speculation and silly conspiracy theories.

Just a place for high profilers to rub shoulders, drink some wine and air their views with each other without feeling constantly on guard due to press scrutiny. Politicians often get together behind closed doors and kick their feet up and relax so they can honestly air their views off the record, I think the bilderberg is just the same, but on a global scale.

Not a chance - when these meetings are held there is an agenda, a purpose and a plan (or a plan to be made). And only two key factors are important - money and power. They have much better places to go to drink wine and have very nice people to rub their shoulders for them. Just have a look at the agendas of previous meetings.

I do not understand what you're implying. The either have an agenda for meeting ... or not!

If it's just a "cheese and wine", why are you interested? People socialise all the time.

If it is more than that, then, judging by their profiles, it is obviously a meeting on how to deal with world finances or the recession or how to screw the common man a little more. If you see conspiracy in that, so be it.

Topic of discussion was "How can we make billions more while bleeding the little guy (more) without killing him"

It is an opportunity for them to get together with their peers and discuss the challenges facing the world today.

I know for one, Queen Sofia of Spain is highly apposed to bullfighting, and has attended a couple of these meetings already. Yet bullfighting continues. I'm not sure sure I'd say these people are in total dominance and manipulaters of much, well, much less their own countries as much as some of you think.

Naivety or stupidity I don't know which. I think you've been watching The Philanthropist to much. The only challenges these okes are interested in are ones concerning more money and power for themselves. I don't believe half the BS spouted about this lot but i can tell you right now the BG are not interested in world peace and security.

Given their name... I would assume that they get together to look at pictures of mountains.

More typical bitching and whining about how everyone is trying to screw us and how fsucked we are. Its not a trait exclusive to South African's, but boy we sure do it more than anyone else.
