Hi

In another thread a guy from billion said that if I wanted to run pppoe and router mode at same time I'd need a 7300, I can only find the 7300G, I assume the only difference is the added wireless capability ?

Also to people who own this what do you think of it ?

Hi KinsZA
There is actually a 7300 it's the replacement for the 5102 and it doesn't have wireless it will probably be in the shops in about a week or so.

Hope this helps.

I wanted to add it also supports the pppoe relay you wanted

As in the 7300g and the 7300 support the pppoe relay, or just the 7300. I already ordered the 7300g , if it doesnt have the pppoe relay then oh well its once in a blue moon I would use it but maybe a future firmware version will have it.

By the way how come there is no 7300g firmware on billion website.

Both the 7300A and the 7300G has got the PPPOE relay option.

The website will be updated with the 7300G F/W in this week. The F/W that is on the router will be latest that we have as well.

Thats new to me. My Supplier does not have a 7300 on the pricelist....

Let me do some diggin! :)

Was just about to edit, "oops I forgot that you double posted"

Anyways I have to congratulate billion for a few factors that made me purchase the router, I'll put in order.

1) BRILLIANT Manual: I read the pdf and it actually goes through every option in your interface, everything else I see is a "just as much as you need to know to make it work" kind of thing. No more having to google to find out things.

2) Interface and Features: Clean interface, nice ammount of features.

3) Website: Nice and clear about where to buy, firmware, products etc...

4) Customer Care: The fact that there is a BillionSA representative on a ADSL forum is a great idea.

5) Price: For what I read its a great price.

The End.

by the way, I read IPTV support on features of the router but not in the manual, just how does IPTV support make it different to other routers.

EDIT: terencevs, the sms feature of micts is a great idea.

IPTV is going to be brought out in the near future. We need severs that we can connect to that is not yet available. We need atleast ADSL2+, for the connection, which funny enough is not available yet, what a surprize...
So the router is setup to do its job, its just that we dnt have the facilities in SA yet.....

Ok so in regards to the sms system:

Every time I update your order I will notify you.

Eg. Welcome message, When your account has been created, When I receive your payment, When your order is ready for shipping, when the courier has your order and I will also send you your tracking number at this time, updates while shipping and lastly when I confirm that you have received your order.

I will also send the occasional advert :D

Also remember that you can reply to the sms....

Let me know if you need anymore info.

Have you seen the new site?

New sites a nice improvement.

*stares at cellphone hoping for a shipping sms*
