Hi people, I need some advice please.

This week I got this router and it seemed to work fine at the start (I don't have ADSL yet, but I was able to log into the router's web interface). I'm pretty sure that the "SYS" LED was flashing then. Anyway, after the first time I logged into that interface, I couldn't log in again, and the "SYS" LED is now completely dead. I can't even ping the router anymore, it simply says "Request timed out".

I tried the reset button on the router but it doesn't appear to have any effect. The router is connected to a 8 port switch, but even if I connect it directly to a PC it won't ping it.

If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Normally you need to hold in the reset button for about 20 seconds for a reset to take place. You will know when it has reset it self because some of the LED's will flash.

As Gambit said, a "quick" reset - no settings are lost, the router just reboots - is if you just stab the reset button.
Holding it in for 10-20 secs will perform a full master reset - all settings are cleared and reset to default.

That said, the SYS light should only flash during start-up or reboot, the rest of the time it should be constantly lit (well mine is).

Are any of the other LEDs lit or flashing?

Impressive stuff IC! :)

Funny that fabricated "plug into UPS" multiplugs don't seem all that widely available. A friend of mine's got one and it is incredibly useful.

LOL, I did this same UPS & multiplug thing for a friend a few months back when he got ADSL, but never got around to rigging my own UPS powered mutiplug [until the other day], the idea originally came from noone - if I recall he did this to protect/power his iBurst UTD [very useful in the early days for applying new firmware when the power mainstream could go at any minute]...

There is a gap in the market! :) Anybody gonna take it?

Hi, there. I have held the reset button for about a minute without any effect. Guess I'll have to contact the Billion guys.

Hi Vroomfondel,

As IC suggested please contact us at [email protected]. We will probably need to contact you, so please include your contact details in your mail as well.
