Billion or Netgear with local DNS

My apologies if this has been covered before, but I am an a bit technologically disabled so please bear with me :)

Which of the above (preferabbly wireless) can be integrated with local Dynamic DNS services.

My problem is the following, I use Winconnect (RDP software) to connect multiple pc's, it works great but when the sessions logs of and the user has te be re-initialized if disconnects the dialup session when using the dialup pppoe on XP.

I use a dynsite to re-connect the connection but now all users (5) have to wait for the connection to re-establish.

Using the stadard Telkom Router there is no facility for Dynamic Dns updates.

The above routers have the feature but only for international FREE Dns services, however the cap is the problem and it takes up to 15/20 minutes before anything happens.

Is there a way to allow these routers in PPPOE mode (not bridge mode), to make use of local DNS services.

This will surcumfent the need to re-establish the dialup on the server, and the router will be online on permanently, therefore allowing all other users to be online when users re-initiate connections.

Andy suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thx
 
Please inform us of the local Dynamic DNS service provider you want to make use of. We can then assess if we can ad them to our list.

As an alternative, you can find out if the local Dynamic DNS service provider has client software that you can install on a PC connected via the LAN to the BILLION modem/router. This software can then manage the update of the IP address of the Dynamic DNS.

I am currently using www.dynamic-dns.co.za, it works fine when using XP's PPPOE dialup, what I realy need is for the router to get the IP update and not XP itself.

I will gladly switch to any local DNS provider. Currently all these routers only support Internationl DNS providers like No-Ip and www.dyndns.org.

Surely there must be some workaround

One possible solution

1/ set up a DNS server on your local machine, if you have Windows NT/2K/2003, you can do that by active the service, or do it on one Linux box, or download free one from http://bind8nt.meiway.com/download.cfm, install on your Win2k PC.
Test it before you go further.

2/ create one A recorde www.dyndns.org points to IP of your new Dynamic DNS server www.dynamic-dns.co.za (you have to find it)

3/ change your Router's DNS configure, first DNS IP points to your own DNS Server

that should work, but I didn't test it.
 
Good one renm so i'm using local dns to update international dns is this correct, but this won't work for XP thanks anyway I will investigate if this can be done on XP
