About 2 weeks ago my Billion Router/Modem suddenly stopped working properly, so I sent it back to the suppliers to be replaced/repaired.

Needless to say a couple days later I went to pick up my replacement modem.

I plugged it in and it immediately made a PPP connection so I thought they'd simply repaired it and left it at that.

Tonight I wanted to make some setting changes and tried to login with my old username and password, which didn't work, so I tried the default ones, which worked. Checking the user settings I discovered that I have been using some poor shmucks Telkom ADSL connection...

What has me worried is, what happened to my original modem? Could some other unknowing schmuck be using my connection?

ROFLOL! Don't worry! Cancel your own account, and use the connection you've got! :p

PS. Not serious, since I don't want to promote theft! ;)

Hi Guys,

Sorry about this. Turbo_Aspiration is correct, after we complete a repair job we test the ADSL router with our own accounts. It is company policy not to boot up any equipment on the live network with a customer's account.

Normally the router should be reset to factory defaults just before being shipped out again, and I think this is what did not happen... our mistake.

Viceroy, the router you received was your original, with one of our test accounts. Please factory reset.

Thank you and kind regards,
Billion Tech.

phew!! thanks!

I've already replaced the user account with mine and rebooted, confirmed by my user stats

Again thumbs up MyADSL
