Many developed nations have declining fertility rates. So your overpopulation concerns are more short term.

And we have no idea how much ground water we actually have.

So where would all the salt go...as all land is now taken up by 100 story buildings.
And to run the desalination plant takes A LOT of power, so you need to build a couple
of nuclear reactors to run them...where would we place all the nuclear plants?
I take it on floor 27 of each building, between floor 26 schools and floor 28 the supermarket.

I take it that means your ok with the extinction of all sea creatures as well?

That article measures exports in gross monetary value, not tonnage. Get this, peaches sell for roughly R 83.00 per kilogram (€2.50 per 500g, source) while they sell for just R 33.00 per kilogram at PicknPay - source. If South Africa used Euros, we'd also have a high export rate in gross monetary value.

The technology to remove salt from water (desalination) exists, yes - but what are you going to do with all the salt it removes? You can't just dump it because that will poison the crops you so desperately need for a population that high. If you throw it back in the ocean, it will kill local sea life because they're only used to a certain % of salt saturation, not the tons of salt that will have to be removed due to desalination.

Lol. If you think we can alter the salt percentage of the ocean then there's really not much point continuing.
