Well, the earth's ecological carrying capacity for humans is a max. of 10 billion. We're 70% there. China and India accounts for 36% of the roughly 7.5 billion people on earth. So maybe we should just not allow them to get older? Very bad ethical headache coming up.

Lol. No. It is easily 100 billion with current tech.
As things stand we can have 10 billion people just in North America.

Land area of earth: 148,300,000 sq km
Area per person with 100 bn
A = 148,300,000 /100,000,000,000 = 1.48meters per person

excluding taking deserts into account, which are necessary for certain ecological groups to grow

Sounds like fun...

Ja, no. As soon as you bring any real science, mathematics or logic to the overpopulation myth it just falls flat.

It doesn't even stand up to the most basic scrutiny.

Well first we'll have to agree on what a billion is. Are we using short form or long. Because currently the earth has 7 billion people, 700 000 000 short form, which makes your number 100 trillion.


Edit: This was stupid of me. The calculation is still wrong in converting back from km2 to m2 but I made up my own error for it.

There's a bit of Zuma in all of us.

My friend... why do you think we suddenly don't have enough water and electricity in SA? Because gov. has failed to adapt to a GROWING POPULATION - ie. HIGHER CONSUMPTION. How do you think we will manage in SA with a similar population as China, for example? It would be a bloody hellhole.

Bruh... you're embarrassing yourself. A billion is a thousand million - ie. 1 000 000 000. See the difference between 700 million (700 000 000) and 7 billion (7 000 000 000).

Math is a little off...

1 sq km is 1 000 000 sq meters.

Therefore your answer should be.

148,300,000,000,000/100,000,000,000 = 1483 sq meters, not 1.48 meters.

Lol yeah that was stupid of me. I corrected the wrong thing. However the calculation is still wrong. Everyone gets 1483m2

Even if that was the case, then take out areas that arent inhabitable (as you mentioned with todays technology)
So take out the great desert, take out the australian desert, take north pole, south pole.
Take out the amazonian forest so the environment life cycle there doesnt die.
Take out the areas taken up by agriculture to feed all those people
1400 sqm meters gets drastically reduced
