Bioshocking

yeah i want it so bad i could cry :( as much as i love run and gun (Serious Sam, baby!) and hack and slash (diablo, oblivion, uhhhh do these count though? ) this one just sounds and looks like... i dont know... the second coming?

<cue angelic music>

but i think the pc dummies (like me) will have to wait a bit longer than the 360 bastards... call it a hunch

Typically what do collectors editions give you that the standard ones dont? Are there price differences?

Sometimes you get wonderful goodies :D I'm a collector :D I loooooooooove my games :D Sometimes you get art books, maps, figurines, miscellaneous items, etc :) Plus, I love supporting the developers, and I love having something to cherish and hold onto. I'm the same with books :D I love my hardcovers and first editions :D I'll always buy one even if I already have the paperback :)

My favourite items though, would have to be the art books - I find it amazing how everything gets conceptualised and put together - it's fascinating and beautiful :D

:D *pounces doobiwan* Now that I didn't know :p But it's a damn fine reason indeed :D *resists urge to buy just yet... need money to last a little longer* :D

Just finished downloading. Omg... it's awesome! I want to get the physical copy! There has to be a physical version available somewhere, doesn't there? Damn my hoarding tendencies!

Edit: GRUESOME! But awesome :D

Edit 2: Euuuw... there are life-like things in there! Naaasty!!! Wow... Fallout's mutants can learn a thing or two from these things *shudder*

Edit 3: Wow... It looks so cyberpunk and even steampunk! It looks brilliant! That art book just made me want this game even more... I can't wait! I'm itching to play it! :D :D :D

** sigh ** i just read this thread and rushed over to my dusty xbox to download bioshocking as mr specsaver calls it, and what are you all smoking - the download is 1.3GB - hellkom have us in the middle ages with a lousy tiny iffy 3GB cap - I can't go finish my cap in the middle of the month, man this sucks.
wheres the demo for Halo 3 - only reason I got crackdown was cause it said comes with Halo 3 demo.
Great game but i killed all de bosses and gangsters and cant find any more orbs :((

Definitely looks like a definite. Easy to dismiss one overly enthusiastic review, but this is getting ridiculouse.......

Official Xbox Magazine (UK) 100/100
"Amazingly written and beautifully constructed, it's a complete emotional rollercoaster which we can't drawn any parallels with...You'll be playing this game for months to come, exchanging story elements to build up the bigger picture, and arguing about what it all means."

PC Gamer (UK) 10/10 ( as upped on games radar)
"Succeeds so Stunningly on three fronts: narrative, emergence, and a sense of place. If another game did just one of these as well as BioShock, it would immediately qualify as a classic. When a game comes along that does all three, we can only be baffled and thankful."

Eurogamer Review 10/10
"It takes the tired, worn-out FPS genre by the scruff of the neck, reinvents and bends it out of shape in such a breathtaking fashion that it's going to take something very special to top this in the months and years ahead."

Gameinformer 10/10
"It’s ingenious, enthralling, and a masterpiece of the most epic proportions. In terms of delivering chilling atmosphere, dynamic combat, and startling revelations, games just don’t come any better than BioShock."

Any idea what the diffs between the 360 and PC versions will be? If any. (Except the price)

The price difference isn't that much. Bioshock PC is over R400.

From a gameplay perspective I believe they're identical, as the game was originally designed for 360, so things don't get lost.

I share your pain. I go through 3gb in the first week. Have 3 accounts totalling 17gb and I always run out. I'm not getting the demo, not because of the 1.3gb, but because if it is really this good, I'm going to go nuts if I get to play half an hour then must stop for a week.

So sorry H3 Beta is over:(

Is Bioshock DX10? Sorry I havent been following the hype.

Also one highlight of System Shock 2 was turning around and having the huge wrench or spanner held by a zombie type guy smash into your face, or a shotgun up your nose :D nearly rolled backwards off my chair.

I didn't realise Bioshock had anything in common with System Shock but some of you are comparing them as if they do. If so then Bioshock will be awesome :)
