Can any one give any insight to this board? just looking to buy a really cheap pc to have running so long... hopefully under 2k.

The Biostar TForce 6100 AM2 should cost you around R650* and will alllow you overclocking, my 2GHz X2 3800+ is running at 2.5GHz in one.

The Biostar GeForce 6100 AM2 should cost you around R600* and the one that Sapphiron mentioned should cost around R830*

*(prices are based on what I think a reasonable retail shop should charge you)

True the AMD chipset is more pricey, but it is far more modern and will support AMD quad cores, unlike the 6100 which is about 2 years old already. I mean, I had a 6100 chipset with my single core 3500+ even before the days of AMD Dual cores.

Dude, a Intel is a Intel wether at Sahara or not, who else sells Samsung screens? But do avoid the Sahara branded stuff and personally I avoid the Foxconn motherboards.

That's what I meant.

Samsung screens are not bad, but they would do a lot better to get another distributer.

Funny, my Foxconn 6100 board is running my 939 3200+ at 2.6GHz.

Nothing wrong with the Foxconn, for a cheap board. Just don't buy it from Sahara, get it from Pinnacle. They are much cheaper, R 315-00 ex vat for the (Foxconn nForce 6100M2MA-RS2H).

One problem with Pinnacle, have you seen how thick their application form is, only supplier I didnt join (except Rectron for other reason) because of the paperwork...

Take the time and get it done, nothing's too "difficult". Is there any other members here registered with Pinnacle, in the Gauteng area.

lol... u guys r putting me off from buying a foxconn p35-a board from sahara :(

Also have a look at this board:
http://www.asus.com.tw/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=496&l4=0&model=1585&modelmenu=1

It is also cheap, but has far more powerfull graphics and the onboard HDMI is a bonus.

just for some insight, would you say this gfx card can perform just as well as the geforce 7300 LE.

The 7300 LE is basically a cheap benchmark for what i can/cant run as a friend of mine has it and runs quake 4 perfectly on it so i assume it'll satisfy my current needs

The 6100 will be slower.
