African Harrier Hawk, all the small birds ganging up and chasing it away

We had some sort of sunbird in our garden. It was a wee bird and looked a little like a humming bird. Could not get the camera out in time. Beautiful in a Joburg garden though.

Looking through images in the webz, it looks like it may have been the Amethyst Sunbird. Blessed.

I finally identified the son bird I hear in our small garden at this time of year. It is a Cape Robin-Chat. A beautiful song for a beautiful bird.

And my wife booked a weekend away for her and bird besotted daughter to Zaagkuilsdrift. Not too far away from home. My daughter is over the moon for this. My wife is chilled and will crochet and read a book. It looks like an amazing bird paradise.

Just today, I saw one sitting on a post in my garden (Southern Cape) with a worm in it's beak. Yes a lovely bird.

I have several in my garden too.

This morning I was late feeding the birds and one of the hornbills came and sat on the security gate and watched me decant their worms into containers. He was very patient and had a good meal once I was done.
