Both, of course. But since the woman will ultimately bear the weight of responsibility, I would imagine any sexually active woman would be fairly inclined to take the correct precautions.
Your own (not Cheri_N, each person should take his responsibility). If you are a man not wanting a child you need to make sure that measures are put in place.
EDIT: If I trusted my partner enough, I would trust her to take her pill religiously. If I were uncertain or not trusting, I'd use other forms of birth control.

I'm just saying if you don't want a baby, make sure you take the right precautions. It's your responsibility to do that - as is the same for your partner.

lol. I think it's the responsibility of both. If the decision is for her to take the pill the she needs to take it religiously. If its condoms then obviously there can't be any 'heat of the moment' moments. I'm a fan of the little Mirena - apparently it's more effective than the pill and has other advantages for women as well (according to the ex that it).
on a similar topic ... would any of your GUYS get snipped ? i've been debating this with my SO and she doesn't see why she has to get her tubes tied or whatever they do these days, she wants me to get this snip when we had enough children ...
