Seeing as BIS 2.1 is now available for the blackberry perhaps someone could explain the benefits of migrating?

I see that I finally have the facility to change my email address which is a bonus with all the spam I regularly get but what else?

BTW - I migrated simply by logging into the web interface.

Yes - I can access the page from the browser = although it looks the same if I access it via my pc. The reason being is vodacom installs its own browser instead of the required blackberry variant.

Did you upgrade to 2.1 from http://www.mobileemail.vodafonesa.co.za/ ?

Just a question on Blackberry:

Can you use your corporate e-mail configuration on the Blackberry, IE the e-mail sent to your work address will still be pushed to the Blackberry?

Never had it set up like that AFAIK yes - they have an enterprise solution available for businesses.

It is very fast - I use BIS but have my emails forwarded automatically to my blackberry (via a spam filtering gmail account) rather than have the blackberry service pull them from the accounts. There is rarely a noticeable delay.

Yes I can also access the page with the exact same message. Vodacom said it will be fixed with BIS 2.1. Then you can access all the free software, games, wall papers etc

Yes I did. Other funny thing is that the page that ask you to confirm if you want to upgrade it says that it is BIS 2.0 and not BIS 2.1

I'll have to admit I did not notice that :o

Perhaps it is time to reinstall the blackberry browser.

That you only get when you do a BES activation.

They need to fix it on the service book on their side !!!!!

Looks like we are getting the short end of the stick AGAIN with Vodacom only upgrading to BIS 2.0 and not 2.1 which has been available since February 2006.

Maybe they got a good price on 2.0? I've often heard it said that Africa is the rest of the worlds dumping ground.

There really is little worthwhile to be found in this upgrade! What was the point?

Yep Anti-Spam only came with 2.1 (February 2006)

When 2.0 came out there were not as much spam as today
Feb 2006? Are we that far behind?

I wonder, will we ever get some answers as to what's going on?
