So after the blackout I'm sure most people would just be more than happy to have BIS again and so speed didn't really feature as a valid complaint. However, it's been a few days now and I've realised that my BIS is considerably slower than pre-blackout and was wondering if anyone else has noticed the same problem.

All my apps are performing sub-par and sometimes the connection even seems to time out and I get the message that the app was unable to connect to the server.

I left this up to now because I assumed that after the weekend any backlog on the servers will have been flushed out and it would be back up to full capacity but no such luck. I also considered that it may be my service provider but that won't explain why I've only had this issue after the blackout.

Would love to hear from other users as to whether or not they have this problem too and if not, how you believe I can resolve it.

Same here :(.

And it is definitely BIS not service provider related, as apps that allow tcp/ip connections work much faster on that connection compared to BIS, like UberSocial.

I too experience the slowing down of BIS! I can't download anything at all, only the facebook app is working, and even searching something on google has become impossible.
I thought it was due to the combination of bad service (inside my flat) and the poor quality of my phone (9000) but even now I still can't feel the natural pace of my BIS (on 9900 now).
Someone should address em 'coz we paid 4 a service we aint getting.

I don't even use my FB application ; it's far, far faster going to the mobile site ...

Well I guess one option is to take your phone back for a refund under the CPA because we're not getting what was promised.

If only I knew who to complain to because the networks will probably blame RIM and RIM will blame the networks, if they care at all.

I agree it is suckingly slow since the outage, all is NOT well in RIM land and after being a user since the beginning I'm rather peeved. I'm actually starting to consider looking at another platform like Android / Iphone and paying for data. Quite simply without BIS a blackberry is utterly useless.
