BIS faster recently?

I am not sure if it is only me but my Vodacom BIS on my 8520 seems much faster. I noticed this today when pages like google and mybb seem to load almost instantly instead of waiting for about 20 seconds.

Anyone else getting faster speeds or is it just me?

More likely the intervention Vodacom promised months back. Unless the BIS leeches are so stupid they don't know of the other fifty download sites still running quite happily.
 
There was a site that allowed users to take a torrent download link, paste it onto the said site and have users download the content from there. I'm assuming mostly BlackBerry users haha. Anyways, amid the Megaupload take down, that torrent link site closed down towards the end of Jan. So that may also be a contributing factor.
 
Hmm ok well its not any of the above actually, took a drive into town and there is only GSM coverage everywhere there. So maybe some of the hundreds of users have no network access is speeding up my connection :D
 
this just shows us Vodacom cannot handle traffic if everyone is on Holiday - Meaning School Kids, University, etc. I noticed once the University did open things were much better - this week things are excellent - sites load faster and in the evening even faster/instantly.

I think Vodacom upgraded their BIS infrastructure there was someone chatting about this last year on here in December..

I am glad things are not under pressure anymore was about to move over to 8ta and didn't want to port to a new provider cos I have had the same number for over 10years.
 
Just downloaded the SATNAV mobile app and for a 2MB download, it actually flew! :)

I haven't download apps via BB in a while though.
 
marine 1 - its my humor don't take things personally please it's just a forum you a fantastic user.

I haven't bothered to use my BlackBerry lately cos of the slow speeds now I am actually noticing messages get delivered instantly on BlackBerry Messenger
