BitCo Consumer Review

Thanks for the feedback. Good to hear.

The downsides so far seems to be:
- Low tolerance throttling
- No after hours support
- Port forwarding is a mission

Unless I'm missing something

Yip

Support not too much an issue because no problems, but if something breaks Friday evening you have 2 days of no internet till Monday.

And the FUP sucks

I'm sure I can get by, even with the FUP. With ADSL out of the question, my options are limited.

I see they open on the 5th. Now to wait 2 weeks...

Correct. I can't wait till Monday as I want to upgrade my 5Mbps to 10Mbps :)

Have sent BitCo a message let's see if they can sort us out.

I have also been having the same issue, especially with destiny. Anytime before 6pm I can forget about playing destiny as I will get kicked back to load screen or orbit all the time. I have an open support ticket about this for a few weeks now. So far nothing has happened because support is assuming that because I don;t have a public ip yet I can't implement the necessary port forwarding as suggested by all PS4 and destiny forums.

Each and every instance that I have had issue with Destiny, I have switched to my 3g connection and not had any problems so therefore I think that I can say with some degree of certainty that this is a BitCo issue.

Add to that, right now I have been disconnected 5 times over the past 2 days for periods ranging from 2 to 5 minutes and now also experiencing bad lag in World of Warcraft (as I can't play destiny) for longer and longer periods of time.

Add to that the lack of support (yes I know Mike, you said it is coming in 2015) for home users outside of working times and I am seriously getting frustrated with something that looked really good on paper and sounded really good with all the crap that the sales person told me that is actually not true.

So, right now, really frustrated and disappointed.

Has Destiny been optimised on Bitco or not yet?
Anyone asked Garth to have a look at it for you? I know they did it for WoW.

Hey guys

needing some help here. Haven't heard from Garth in a while. Not sure who to contact but calling the support line after hours doesn't work for normal subscribers like us.

After yesterdays electrical storm, I suspect that my dish was damaged by a nearby strike. It is on and I can connect to the equipment but I don't have internet connection. I have restarted the switcher and router numerous times. I even left it off for a bit. Nothing. I tried calling support but nothing. Do they not have a 24 hour support like many of the other providers for times like these?

So now I am using my 3G in the only corner of the house that it really works in hope to get some sort of a reply because the 99% uptime for this month will have been tarnished as I cannot get hold of them. They need to look into this.

I have spoken with someone else in my complex that also has Bitco and his connection is up and running. So not the high-site that is down. Please help if possible.

Thanks guys

My connection just died, 4th time in 2 weeks where it randomly just drops connection and stays down for a long time.

Posting this from my ADSL line which is supposed to be cancelled end of this month but I'm considering not cancelling it.

BitCo, what is going on, you promise a 99% uptime without a 24/7 helpdesk for your consumers?

And now it's back up...

Storms?

Had a massive hail storm yesterday afternoon. Though my connection never dropped. It does normally when there is heavy thunderstorms but then only for around 10 minutes then it's up again.

Nope, no storms or any funny weather at the time.

Hey Guys, I'm considering signing up for Bitco, but would first like to know how strict the throttling process is. All my downloads would be afterhours (most of them between 12am-6am), and I will be streaming/playing games after 5pm. Only daytime activities would be browsing and VPN (only the days I work from home). There would also be streaming on public holidays and weekends. Would Bitco work for me?

Regards

My packet loss issues have been around for the past 2 weeks again, sitting at a constant 30-40% loss in games like Counter Strike (Worst its ever been) Emailed Bitco support about a week ago, and they said something about they're on a yearly lockdown (might have the wording wrong) and no changes to my network can be made for the time being, needless to say its about a week later and haven't heard from them, and my problems still persist... Bitco's never ending quest of disappointing me continues it seems:mad:

THAT bad, huh? That's very disappointing and kind of a dealbreaker.

Dont think its quite that bad... unless you download 24x7... then yes it will burst to 10Mbps...

dont think we will have had this many positive reviews with line speed only bursting up to specifications.

after hour support is however an issue for me, since i work during the day and cant troubleshoot then..

I watch a lot of twitch.tv, though. Something like that feels like it would reach FUP in minutes.

I'm still struggling to get figures out of current users. How much data can they use before being throttled and so forth.
Seems to be very arbitrary amounts at this point.

So today I have another odd situation, not FUP'd but I have 20-30ms + latency local.

Restarted router, switch, dish, no luck.

I normally avg around 4-8ms ping and my local games average around 12-16ms. I'm trying to play Quake Live now with a 30-40ms ping.

What is going on guys?

Oh the torture that 30-40ms must bring :p try playing fps games with a constant 30% packet loss, BITCO SUCKS FOR FPS GAMES!!!!!!!!!!
