BitCo Consumer Review

Comparing a Tracroute done on BitCo with another one done on Afrihost ADSL.
Since I'm not very networking literate, Could someone please tell me which trace results are better and why?
I have a feeling that Bico's network is taking shorter routes.:D

I'm not quite sure what the exact changes were to the new FUP, and whether they were implemented or not, but anyway is the following working as intended... I downloaded 10gb last night when I got up this morning my connection was being throttled, I thought nothing about it, throughout the day I used the internet 2-3 times, for like 10-15mins, and the phones were connected to through the wifi the whole day, but no downloads were done, yet my line is still being throttled even though I havent downloaded something on over 12 hours:confused:

Update: Its 8:40pm and speeds are only back to normal now

Yeah lines down here in Fourways as well. Been trying to phone 0860024826 for some clarity but the call doesn't connect...

Couldn't remember what my 3G password was because I haven't had to use it in a while.

Feel sorry for the standby team, getting a call at 21:00 on a Sunday to say it's all broken is never fun.

Hi All,

We are currently experiencing a network failure which is affecting several parts of our network

A technical team is working on the fault and services should restored shortly

Just to add, on my end the connection was working again less than 15 minutes after it was communicated to be down. Well done guys.

Hi All,

Thanks for the posts and positive feedback

We strive to deliver the highest possible up time, unfortunately sometimes technology does fail so its all about redundancy and the way you manage the fault.

Luckily our network is fully redundant and we always plan for the worst case scenario so last night was a good test of our DR plan :-)

As soon as we detected the fault last night a technician was immediately sent through to the data center and upon arrival he moved the affected services over to our backup device and the fault was cleared.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused, all testing has been completed this morning and services are 100% operational.

Mike
