BitCo Consumer Review

Saturday morning 9 o clock and i am still on 1.9 meg download.....what the hell are you people doing :mad:
 
I have been streaming the whole day with no other downloads....Getting throttled again at exactly the same time. Only response from sending a ticket to your support this morning was..."You had high utilization of your line" but could not tell me what it was...only send me a graph with no real information other than usage.....:wtf::mad:

Hello Jimmy,

Feasibility studies for possible FTTH offerings are underway. We, however, cannot commit to offering FTTH until we have reviewed the findings. We would very much want to enter the FTTH market. We have successfully rolled out competitive FTTB packages with wonderful reviews. We would naturally want to be able to provide an equivalent, home optimised, service.

We simply cannot put a time frame to this which is why we have not publicised anything of this nature yet. We will be sure to alert the media when we are ready.

I'm now also pretty screwed in terms of my options - no telkom lines in the estate as of yet only smartvillage Fibre which seems to be atrocious based on the number of complains on the Midstream estate residents forum. :confused:

just a real crappy situation to be in.

makes me really hate complexe's even more. Seems like people will really try to find anything that they can complain about. i mean really - what makes this antenna/dish more different than an ugly DSTV dish??

Yip, for 16 months it wasn't an issue - my stand is bordering the road next to the estate and although it's never before been an issue it became an issue after some sad moegoe actually took a picture thereof and sent it to the HOA together with a complaint. The below picture is what was sent in and thereafter emailed to me by the HOA...029.jpg

I'll just tell them to fark right off tbh. You're the owner? Or renting? They should worry about the people not paying levies and leave you alone :p

Yip, I'm the owner and the suggested apporach would've been great in an ideal world.

We do however live in a large and extremely well maintained estate and it seems as if the HOA previously didn't have an issue due to my stand being on the border but unfortunately had to stringently apply the (later adopted) rules regarding aesthetics due to mr moegoe complaining.

Well legally...

Are there any other feasible alternatives for the complex? Reason I'm asking is because they approved it initially, they can only expect you to comply with their request if they have a feasible alternative. Else they would have a very hard time in court forcing you to have it removed. A simple legal letter should sort this mess very quickly.

I agree. We actually fought this battle before with HOA/Body Corporates - and they tend to give in 99% of the time if no other feasible/similar/comparable alternative is available which I doubt is, don't just give in. What makes it any different than a DSTV dish? Because it's less common?

I see a business opportunity modifying dishes to look like DSTV ones

Will definitely have me fuming - quality internet is something difficult to come by, and in this case most probably also a huge expense for you on the installation/contract.

i have seen something in our complex, where the guy got a petition signed by most units in the complex (owners), in order to be allowed to have his veranda roof erected.
Maybe try something similar? - eg "Does this antenna bother you?" , and submit the list of replies to the HOA.

Hello,

I am a current bitco home user. How can you be looking at fibre to home for home users when you have stopped the rollout of home user connections because, straight from your homepage, you need to keep your network stable?

This makes no sense to me.

Fibre is a different infrastructure as opposed to wireless

How can it not make any sense? :confused:
