BitCo Consumer Review

Hello,

I am a current bitco home user. How can you be looking at fibre to home for home users when you have stopped the rollout of home user connections because, straight from your homepage, you need to keep your network stable?

This makes no sense to me.

Hi richard.cumming,

Our Fibre network is a separate network to our wireless network. The Home Internet product that we have discontinued was offered over fixed wireless connections only. Both our Fibre and Wireless networks intercept at our Core, so they can and do effectively 'speak' to each other. Fibre is simply a different technology to transmit data over. We are therefore investigating a FTTH offering because Fibre is far more robust, invulnerable to interference and its capacity is much greater.

So after months of being a very happy customer with Bitco here at Midstream Estates, things have gone south. I am a residential user with a 5Mbps line.

I blame PSN for my problems partially as well. I usually buy and download games for my son from PSN during the night and use the Bitco connection for work during the day. I thought let me migrate to the 10Mbps line since the games are getting larger by the day, and applied for it last week. Despite numerous enquiries Bitco just cannot commit on when I will see the increased speed.

What perturbs me further is that I am seeing download speeds of 2Mbps and I only have one device connected and not in the FUP zone.

The funny thing is that I convinced so many people to go the Bitco route and now here I am eating humble pie. Are others out there experiencing similar service issues with the once stellar company?

I am so jealous of you right now, Khodi :)

Truth is I feel let down by their customer service. Promises to revert to me are not kept. As new players come into the market, customer service is going to be pinnacle to retention.

What kit do you have installed?

Hi sdd,

Update on my Bitco upgrade experience:

Hi Guys,
As much as I like to bitch when things are not going well, I have to give kudos when things are resolved. I am once again a satisfied bitco client :) As much as I want to thank the PM at Bitco for sorting out my upgrade, kudos to this forum for affording us the opportunity to interface with Service Providers present here.

There was apparently an issue with the ticketing system email address that resulted in me not getting the feedback. This was resolved. And the commitment to let my line up and running within the day was met.

Thank you Bitco.

The new speed is just f**king amazing and I regret not doing this earlier.

Big ups!

Hi All,

We are aware that Facebook image fault has returned. It would appear previous adjustments which had resolved the error are no longer working. We are troubleshooting with all our relevant resources.

Facebook images load fine in Chrome for Windows and Android, but slow or not at all in the Facebook app for android.

Or at least that is what I got from a quick troubleshoot
