Anyone currently playing bf4?
I'm experiencing a lot of DC.

Speed test results shows a lot of inconsistent spikes.

what games you play online ? what is your latency like ? is it consistently slow or does it spike ?

Wow and sometimes its 350ms and sometimes its random lag spikes.

Complete case in point is how Mike responds after my post, but yet its totally ignored.

I had the same problem on MW3 last night. I would be kicked out of games with a note "Connection to server lost" I gave up after a while. Seems to be some bug going around. The net was working fine I would just be kicked kicked from servers and gave up and watched Netflix instead. Been pretty solid just these last 2 days I seem to have issues. Will give it time to sort itself out. Will feedback if it's still there come Monday.

Also running into a few issues as of late, minor but annoying. Will wait till Monday, seems like they working on it as they had some outage in Pretoria. Just hope my net returns to what it was :o

guys this is still 1000000000000 times better than 3g trust me ! ;)

Hi Mike,

I have processed my application... ADSL line won't sync above 3Mbps anymore and yesterday the exchange hit 100% capacity and when my line went down they allocated my port to another subscriber and I had to fight to get my port back. This is the Melville, Johannesburg exchange. It's a total mess there!

So here's hoping that I have LOS to Braamfontein, haven't climbed on the roof to check but I cannot see it from the garden.

Mike, anyway you can expedite my LOS test and install?

This has been asked before but I do not believe it has been answered. What is the process followed when doing an upgrade, and why does it take a number of days?
 
So far what a pleasant experience, for those that's still awaiting for the new FUP to kick in, it's entirely worth it.

Ok, so up till now I have had really decent support from Bitco. Having applied for an upgrade from 5Mbps to 10Mbps on Tuesday, it is now Friday and I have not even had an email back to say how long the upgrade could take or even that anyone has bothered to look at it. As has been stated earlier in this thread, Bitco support really needs to up their game. You are letting down what is a seriously good product by not providing even half decent after sales support. I would have even been happy with an email stating it can only be done next week, but ignoring the 5 emails and 3 phone calls I have sent/made is really just poor form.

Don't want to send someone out if there's no chance of LOS.

Use their coverage map to check http://bitco.co.za/coverage-map/ even if you're on their coverage map, you're still going to have to get someone out because things like trees, high buildings etc can all hinder LOS
 
Alright, so someone finally attended to my phone call. No one has even looked at my request for upgrade yet, and it will still take 3 to 5 working days to process!! Absolutely terrible service guys.

Bitco reps, is there anyway to speed this up? My initial request was logged on the 14th.
 
Ok so to everyone that has signed up with Bitco over the lat few months, what has your experience been with them?
Specifically to anyone on the 5mb package, I am really keen to give them a go as my experience with Telkom has not been extremely terrible it more that my exchange is to far from my house so on a 4mb line I barely get 1.5mb.

I mainly use my internet to Stream Netflix & Hulu & Youtube videos, beats having DSTV to be honest.

Yes we are planning on building more high sites in that area as you just fall outside our current coverage area.

I will post a public update soon of all the high sites coming online this year as soon as i have the final list with go-live dates

I want to let everyone know our upgrade process is usually 1 week from date of order, obviously once the sales department processes the upgrade our infrastructure department has to sign it off before technical actually upgrades the line.

Occasionally the process is slower than normal when infrastructure needs to do capacity planning, as we do not contend our services we need to ensure that the bandwidth is available for the upgrade.

If the bandwidth is not currently available the planning team would need to make changes to accommodate the upgrade

Although this is rare is does indeed happen from time to time.

In the case of your order i will personally get involved and ensure you have feedback before COB today

Suggest you get a flask of coffee and start reading this thread, all the answers you need are there and that saves people having to repeat themselves. Enjoy!

Do you stream SD or HD ?

If you stream SD then you will be fine

If you stream HD and plan to watch more than 2 movies at a time then you can PM me and i'll explain my experience
