BitCo Consumer Review

Hopefully new install goes well next week Thursday, then I can give my ever failing telscum line the boot : ]

@Bitco, you ever considering different packages? Maybe a 7mb to fit in between the 5 & 10 offerings?

Just a quick question regarding the FUP: If I download for 1 hour at full speed, I get throttled to halfspeed. If I continue to download in the throttled period, will I go back to fullspeed after a hour or do I have to stop downloading for an hour before being unthrottled?

In my experience after 1 hour you are returned to full speed.

Doesn't seem like that for me :s. Woke up at 7:40AM (with downloads running the night) and was throttled, kept downloads going until 9:00AM and still was throttled at 9:00AM.

Does anyone know if they offer symmetrical service to residences?

I need a high upload speed. At the very least 5Mb up. But I only see symmetrical offered to businesses.

Hi SplaT,

At this stage we don't offer a symmetrical services on our home broadband packages

You currently get 1Mbps Upload for every 5Mbps Download so the highest available for home subscribers is 2Mbps upload

if you would like to achieve the higher upload speeds you would need to take advantage of our business offering

You can PM me with your requirement and i can work some pricing for you

Mike

Sparky meant an hour after you stop downloading. If you stopped downloading at 9am, your link should've restored itself at 10am, give of take a few minutes.

Ah okay, I see now. Have anyone got their contract cancelled by downloading 24/7?

Fourways Link seems down again... Went out at around 00:00 but that's also exactly when the bad weather started! It's pouring down now

My downloads are crawling tonight and games seems unplayable :s

HI Sephiroth96,

Very weird that your downloads had been slow?

From a quick check i can see 5Mbps download speeds from 2 am - 6pm and at the moment you are running at 2Mbps due to reaching the FUP

if you are still experiencing a problem can you log with [email protected] so they can conduct an investigation for you

Mike

HI Louispires,

Thanks for the post

Massive electrical storm last night affected services in the North of JHB from around 00:10 - 00:22

Services didn't go off completely but had been unstable due to very poor line of sight

We tested and confirmed everything was operational and we didn't have to dispatch any technical teams last night

Let us know if you still experiencing a problem?

Mike

Hey, it seems the downloads speeds are better, but I'm still experiencing lots of packet loss, any info on my ticket? Also last question, do you throttle from 12AM-6AM?
