BitCo Consumer Review

What to do I guess, let's just wait and see if it comes back on :-(

Hi Guys,

I can confirm we are not experiencing any form of fault on our National Network.

All high sites and core network services are online and operational.

Please can you try to power cycle your CPE equipment and log with [email protected]

Hi Mike

Seems to be intermittent, it's being on and off for most of the evening

When it was on, i did a speed test and got about 4.5 MBps but the internet was very sluggish

Received a call today and LOS test scheduled for next week Friday.

So the Bitco guys arrived today to do the LOS test and found LOS to the Helderkruin tower. They have some interference problems to the tower so now I need to wait for the report to know if they can install or not.

Yay, Evolution 2015 has started on twitch and I'm buffering on medium settings, not FUP'd.

Great way to start my weekend :|

I just noticed the router by default was enabled to remote access via IP, if you guys use the same default password for routers you put your customers at risk.

Hi KoeksGHT,

There is no security risk with any of our Home Broadband Routers, they are all accessible remotely but only from a trusted IP range on our core network.

Once a subscriber receives the username and password from BitCo and does a reset to the device BitCo will no longer have access to manage this device and the security management passes to the subscriber.

Hi Senshi,

I confirm no issues on our side over the weekend with twitch or any other services.

Twitch also doesn't work right for me. In fact since I got BitCo it hasn't worked well. I'm wondering if 5 Mb/s is just too slow. It just buffers all the time, making it unwatchable. Strangely enough Youtube live streams work perfectly though.

Otherwise I've been very happy with my connection. :)

Hi Grasmuis,

Our technical team is correct, the Helderkruin Tower is plagued with interference and we are very strict with the links we approve onto this site.

We find many illegal operators working in and around this area due to their being more than 5 towers on that mountain.

I am sure you will receive feedback from our team on if we can or cannot install your link

Good luck and hope you get approval

Hi Solitude,

we will test it on both 5Mbps & 10Mbps and let you know what the bandwidth requirements are

I am really getting tired of this ****!!

My line refuses to go back to normal speed on the same day! Look at this screenshot of the last 6 hours for my router, after 1 hour of streaming I hit the FUP and this isn't even at full line speed. Max I hit during this stream was 377KB/s and for a 5Mb line that is not the max line speed.

So has the FUP changed from the following basics that I'm aware of?:
*Use the line at close to maximum throughput for an hour and you will be reduced to half the line speed for a similar period of time.
*Streaming should not trigger the FUP.
