BitCo Consumer Review

Something is definitely up with the FUP... No usage for couple hours still fup'd

Hi KoeksGHT,

Yup something looks weird here based on your usage.

Can i ask you to please log a support request with [email protected] and then PM me the ticket number so i can be involved with support and the check on the FUP policy.

Your link should automatically recover after your downloads stop and no usage for approximately 1 hour

Mike

Have you sent them an email? I had problems, sent them an email explaining the situation and they asked for a screenshot of the speed test which I sent and then they sent it to technical or something and voila, everything is working perfectly again. So it really helps to contact support.

Damn Solitude, you seem to get lucky with their support.

Ive tried contacting support. which takes anywhere from 17 hours to 5 days to get a canned ticket response.

Escalating the ticket is fruitless. its filled with empty promises.

Ive taken time off work to have a tech come and do some tests but they just didnt pitch and the operations manager promises to phone you back but just cant seem to be bothered to do so.

Ive stopped recommending them as a provider

Guys: does Bitco own the equiptment(dish, router and the black box) even after your contract has expired?

Hi NightCrawler

Rather than highly contend our services like DSL, which IMHO has degraded to a point where it is terrible to use, we decided to keep our bandwidth very clean and only slow your line down if you do heavy downloading for a substantial amount of time. As soon as you back off on the bandwidth for about 1 hour your line will run at full capacity again.

We wish we could give everyone 10Mb constant but the cost of international bandwidth and the rand / dollar exchange rate prohibits us from doing this.

We do have Premium business packages but these are far too expensive for home use.

I was told by a friend who recently just signed a home 5 Mbps contract with bitco that her line will be completely unshaped and she was told that she will always consistently get 5 Mbps. How is this possible on a home line if you do not offer affordable unshaped packages for home use?

Hi there guys

I feel like I am being ignored and then robbed because it seems that regardless of my expression to cancel via email a few weeks back, I received an invoice for the month of October. And yet not a word from Jillian Harris or [email protected]. I haven't had power for over a day. I just log in and it feels a bit sluggish. I do a speedtest and I get 7.7 meg. This is not what I am paying for.

This is not the first time. After being away for a week, I get home and my speed is 6.6 meg. I can barely stream netflix in HD without it dropping to SD often. And yet when I check my usage, I'm not even using half the line and yet I cannot stream.

R1499 is a lot of money to pay for a service that I feel that I am not getting. I upped my line to work around your FUP, but even that is not working. Thanks but no thanks.

Previously, when the tower I was connected to was sluggish due to over-crowding, I was given an opportunity to cancel. I should have, because obviously giving you guys the benefit of a second chance has proven a bad and expensive mistake from my side.

Now what part of cancel is hard to understand. I am paying for a service that I am not really getting. If your towers are congested AGAIN, then I am sick of it. Seems like this is going to be a constant problem. Who do I have to speak to to cancel my service at the end of September? This is not on guys. I mailed Jillian on the 11th of September, and this is her reply...

Good Day,

Thank you for highlighting your frustration and dissatisfaction. Please be assured that it has been noted and escalated to BitCo senior management.
Issue mentioned below to be investigated and to revert soonest.

Regards,

BitCo

That was 13 days ago and I have not heard a word, and I have mailed twice since then asking for feedback. Nothing. This is how you treat your clients. Sickening. No proper support on weekends and after hours. It feels like ever really.

I am expecting a reply ASAP.

I want to CANCEL.

thanks

Anyone else have random lag spikes in Wow ?

I stay at 189ms but randomly stuff lags for 2-3 seconds and then seems to correct itself.
It's extremely frustrating and almost looks like their port prioritization is not working properly for wow.

Just CS:GO but I think servers are stuffed

How is Bitco for Xbox one and PS4 not going to play much Mp just to have them connected for updates etc and maybe some gears online ? I ordered the 5mpbs home uncapped from them

Get a 10mbps line now for the amazingly overpriced amount of R1500. But please, do not use all of it.

I check this thread every now and then to see whats happening with their network. Seems like everyone is still facing the same issues that I have before I canceled. Good luck to you all.

Hello Bitco,

By any chance are you planning a price cut in the future?

I am fine with paying for a 5 Mbps option for R900 per month but after seeing that the fup would cut me down to 2 Mbps quite often (I stream and download games often) I was thinking of getting the 10 Mbps option. My only problem is that the prices are quite steep...

Also are games like call of duty prioritized for online multiplayer and will I be able to download a game like call of duty black ops 3 when it comes out because it will be 50 Gb. If it takes me 55 hours on a 2 Mbps connection (because of the fup) will I be throttled for another 55 hours after the game has downloaded.:wtf:

Morning gents,

What is going on with the network there seems to be general and slow deterioration of the network, I have notice a little bit more lag and rubber banding creeping into the MP games. I have also picked up a drop in ping times to the UK servers, initially is was sitting on +-160ms - 179 ms now it has slowly started to deteriorate to the above result.

Please advise.

Hi World Wide Waiters

Bitco I was once lost and then you found me! Even though our romance was short, it was great when it was great!

Recently the Bitco offering got so agonizing (some ass even accused you of profiteering).....

I would love to have to retract some posts cos Bitco listened.
