Bitco home wireless internet

Yeah, the support is excellent of the most part. On 31 December Durban had a very bad storm and the connection died around 8pm, I sent them an email and they responded within 5mins, the issue was fixed by 9am 1 January. A friend who is on Herotel also had his net go down as a result of the weather. It took Herotel 8 Days to restore is connection.

The 28.5mbit speed issue is also something I experienced a few months ago, the RF guys need to fix that for you. Reason I know is I used to get 33mbit etc then all of a sudden its 28mbit max no matter what I did, so while complaining to the support guys, getting the same reason you were he was chatting to an RF guy and while on the phone with him running a download my speed magically goes from 28mbit to 33mbit and has stayed there since.

Alright, thanks. I'll try talking to them and give an update here when/if this gets resolved :D

Just note, it is impossible to get out the two year contract. Fibre showed up in my area last month so I took the 1000/100 package and am using bitco as a backup. The service is good, the support is good. You get the 30mbit 95% of the day.

If you don't see fibre coming to your area take the contract otherwise you will be stuck and HAVE to pay the full two years if you want to cancel in like 6 months

6 months ago I didn't have coverage but now it seems I do. Will apply for this next month when my current WISP contract expires.
oh wow hey, they really rapidly expanded since I checked last year

Surprised that I'm also covered but 24 month contract deal breaker for me.

Just a random long term update of my experience with bitco since my Internet is down right now and I sort of have nothing to do.

My experience with them has been fantastic. I get 28.5mbps down and 14mbps all the time even during peak hours (idk how but I'm not gonna complain). Their support has been really good and they respond (for me atleast) in less than 2 hours even when I logged a support ticket at 1 am in the morning. My Internet has only ever been down 3 times (including now) ever since signing up with them back in July 2020. On the first time, i logged a ticket then they called me in 30 minutes and then told me to restart my router together with the POE injector, then my Internet was restored (27 July 2020). When my Internet was down for the second time on the 15th of October 2020 due to an outage, they kept me responded to my ticket in around 1h 20 minutes and regularly kept me updated on the issue until the outage was fixed. 3rd time (today around 19:30) I logged a ticket and then they called me back in 20 minutes to tell me that the engineers are looking for the cause of the Internet being down.

I don't really know what else to add but everything has been really amazing with them.

Now would I recommend them? I don't really know since alot of the reviews on hello Peter and Google are the exact opposite of what I've experienced, and since they've recently jacked up the price for new subscribers from R1099 to R1499.

My 24 month contract finishes in a couple months but I think I'll still stick with them if I'm not affected by the price changes by then :)

Yeah their support really is top notch and issues gets addressed quickly and professionally.

Just to give a final update on my Bitco link. I got an email at the end of september saying they are processing my cancellation and there will be zero fees etc. I tried to contact cancellations multiple times to find out what is going on because I was told multiple times lol too bad can't cancel unless you pay big fees.
The link continued to work throughout October and I was not charged for that month. Their team came through at the begging of november to remove the equipment and that was that lol. Strange but worked out perfectly for me as 1000/500 life suites me :p
